Beautifully restored 1902 Police station. The history is well displayed with interesting information. We stayed in an upstairs suite which was spacoius and very comfortable. Also more private than the downstairs bedrooms. Tranquil and scenic setting, good service, very good food in the Lookout restaurant. A short walk to Tai O fishing village. Would highly recommend a visit.

Converted from the Tai O police station to a hotel, 9 rooms offer 2 double beds and a comfortable bathroom. Small for $200 per night but the payoff is in the South China Sea view and quintessential white dolphins. This hotel and village is a destination in of itself. From Hong Kong center you need to take either the tram,...

Living in Tung Chung, I came here with my partner after deciding to explore Tai O. We were very excited to find a venue that had a great view, great feel.... and then the food came. One order of nachos and another of the fried rice that was barely edible (that was clearly re heated in a microwave). I thought...

For anyone seeking to explore the outer reaches of Hong Kong, away from the shopping malls and eateries this is a great choice. Its location is both remote yet not difficult to get to, the renovation of the building from its past as a police station into a very comfortable boutique hotel has been executed exceptionally well. That the staff...

Tai O Heritage Hotel is a unique heritage hotel with a lot of history. A brief research will tell you that it was a historic police outpost. The property is owned by the government, and the hotel company is simply leasing and running it. Therefore, they need to open the property to public during a large part of the day....

We stayed at TaiO Heritage Hotel for 2 nights in January and it was an absolute treat. Staff are very helpful and accommodating and the hotel is beautiful. Don't bother with this place. If I could give them zero stars I would. They have no concept of customer service. I booked the hotel through an external website and found out later that it was extremely difficult to get to, and most forms of transportation were not running late at night when we were due to get there. They...

A nice weekend getaway, not too far away but it feels like you've truly left HK. Getting there can be a bit tricky, because you have to get off whatever vehicle you came with before you enter the village, and the hotel is situated at the far end of the village. Please also note that in order to drive there...

In Tai O, you can see old fashion stilt houses on a boat ride and visit the Heritage boutique hotel that is renovated from an old police stations. The restaurant in the hotel called the Lookout offers a decent set lunch or dinner for visitors

Location: about as far away as you can get from the downtown high rises and still be in Hong Kong. It is a trek just to get to Tai O, and another twenty minutes by foot from the village to the hotel. Very peaceful at night, but not so fun getting there if it's raining. Rooms: I had the suite...
