Cheap and covers most of the bases, so nothing much to complain about. We did have a recurring issue with the aircon which the compensated for by giving us a room upgrade, and their service was fairly fast and enthusiastic. They also have one of those free phones you can bring with you while touring which was a pleasant surprise...

My family of 5 stayed here for 4 nights in Jan 2016. The room was very small, as with other standard hotels in premium-land Hong Kong, service was ok. They had both English and Mandarin speaking staff manning the reception counter so no worries on communication. Facing away from the busy Nathan Road is a plus point, as we are...

Do yourself a favor do not stay here. Bed is hard as a rock, room is size of a shoebox, the toilet is in the shower and the room is a disgrace. You could barely fit 2 people in this room and there is no privacy whatsover. You can actually see through the glass so if someone has to go...

This is probably my 4th or 5th trip to HK. I always like to stay at hotel located at Yau Ma Tei area due to it's location. I had stayed at nearby Casa Hotel as well as Silka Seaview before, thus i felt it's lagging something here. Firstly eventhough it does provide free wifi, it's not working most of the...

Booked this hotel at the end of Oct 2015 for 5 nights because it was only 2 mins walk from the MTR and great location near Nathan Rd. However, on my trip I bought some herbal mushrooms & dried scallops for my mum & it disappeared after the staff cleaned my room. I am 100% sure of this as I...

I went to Hongkong for a short holiday from 7th to 12th September 2015. M1 is a good hotel located close to all public transport systems. So reaching any destinations was very easy. Room was small & bathroom was very small but that is Hongkong. Bed is comfortable enough. Breakfast was good & delicious. The staff was friendly. I went Booking.com...

Booked this hotel earlier May 15, very small (as usual because most decent hotel is rather small). The toilet very cramp, once you open the toilet door it will lead you to the main door. Very weird layout. Breakfast is lousy, not much choice. Would suggest to opt out breakfast and have it else where (HK have famous DimSum for...

The hotel is situated in the heart of a HUGE market area. There are junkshops dotting the streets. Beside the hotel is a dressed poultry distributor. Next to that is a coffin shop and next door is a shop that buys recyclable paper materials. Across the street is a.community.park where elderly men sit.during the afternoons when it is.so hot!. i guess the room is too small for someone who have big body, i cannot barely move in here and i have to put all my bag near the window. although the recepcionist are nice and kind but sadly they cannot afford to give us extra key card so i have to stick with my parents.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
