Excellent location and it has hot water, thats the only good thing I can say about my stay. I booked a 2 night stay only to be told on check in I will need to change rooms the following day and to come back at 11am. The first room they put me in was not in the Paterson building as...

This hostels main selling points is the location and the cat. Our double room had no window( we called it the cave-no natural light)and could do with a major upgrade; the biggest points being there is hardly any plug sockets (so putting make up on is a bit difficult) The sheets were never changed as we could only see the...

Due to it being very expensive generally in Hong Kong, getting my own room (so I could deal with hangovers in my own space) was tricky. The room here was a good size, cheaper than hotels anywhere in the city and offered the basic stuff I needed. The drawback to this is that it is located weirdly. In another building...

Personel unfriendly and not helpful. Rooms for HK large but no view, good bathroom, facilities in room such as a fridge and water cooker, excellent location. Noisy airco and room not really clean. Good to stay for couple of nights.

What i like about this hostel is it's Good location. Easy access to public transport and not very hard to find. The rooms are very small and you'll hear the noise of the people in the other rooms. The building is a bit old. You'll get what you pay for. Good just for sleeping then go out the whole day.

I had returned from a two month trip to my home in Hong Kong when I realized my key was missing. After a few nights roughing it, I found this place on line and just took it because all I needed was some sleep. Definitely a back packer place and serves its purpose. The private room was fine with a...

Your visit here will definitely vary from many of the reviews here since the rooms are all over the place -- some in the same building as reception, and some across the street where they have found spare rooms to make $$$. I was able to stay one floor up from reception but the room was dark and dingy, and...

Avoid it like the plague! False advertising. The photos online look nothing like what you will actually get. The hostel is operating illegally and the residents of the buildings are not best pleased to see you. The address of the hostel is an address where the reception is located, nothing else. You have to walk 10-15 mins to another street...

I only stayed there one night after spending the week in Mongkok. The room was not well cleaned and I just put it down to the fact that they were still cleaning the room when I arrived. Being a backpacker hostel it has a lot of information and advice to help you on your trip. I had an early flight...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
