Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

1. Only one power plug works and it is high in the wall. Need to hold everything while using the plug. 2. Request a non-smoking room yet there was construction going on opposite and workers were smoking. 3. Construction noise was going on even after 9 P.M. There was weird fire alarm noise in mid-night. 4. Nothing the front desk staff can do except saying we know but nothing we can do.

Budget wise, it's good enough for a solo traveler. You can't compare to hotels. I had 1 night stay in a private room. You get the basics. This is a shared pantry where you can heat up your food. Location is convenient, close to mtr station. Lots of shops/eateries in this area.

For the price paid this hostel is very cheap. The bed is also very clean. The location of the hostel is in Yau Ma Tei reasonably close to the MTR station so you can get around fairly easy. That is about the only positives I can see about this place. If you check in late you will have to call up the phone number where they will help you to self check in as there is not always staff at reception. Once you have your key your room will be on another floor in the building. The actual room with 4 bunk beds was fairly clean and had a AC unit. Each bed had its own privacy curtain and power socket however there was no nightlight given for each bed. You also get a small locker for each bed. The shower room was ensuite shared between 4 in the room. The actual showerhead was weak and did not feel like it was the most clean. You can actually see ants or bugs in the waterhole on the floor of the shower. If you need a towel you can buy one at reception for 20HKD however these are not normal towels, more like a large absorbent dish cloth. The common area did not seem frequently used during the day. Also considering your room is on a separate floor this does not feel like a hostel but more like you are renting a room or bed in a different location. This leads to this hostel not being very sociable and you are unlikely to meet much people here if that's what you stay in hostels for. As the price was very cheap for this I would say it did its job however I would probably consider somewhere else unless you only wanted a bed to sleep in and the location suited you.

There was water leaking from the side of the bed, and the floor was soaked. I woke up in the middle of the night and my blanket was wet and I couldn't go back to sleep. The bed was hard, but the location was good, so I think it was a good deal considering the price.

We had a pleasant stay at Yesinn @ YMT last July 22-26, 2023! It's near the MTR and bus station (MTR YMT Exit C, bus stop to airport was a few steps away from the hotel) and there are so many food options to choose from (5-7 min walk from KFC, Mcdonald's, Jollibee, Yoshinoya, and other local restaurants.) We especially liked the local restaurant, Eat Together which was just a 3 min walk from the hotel). Convenience stores can also be found around the hotel. Although a tad bit smaller than usual hotels (we stayed in a twin bedroom), it was okay since we only stayed in at night. The room was also cleaned every day and towels were provided. Check-in and check-out was also hassle free and the wifi connection was very fast. If there's anything the hotel needed to improve on, it would be the electrical outlets in the room. We were only able to use 1 socket on our first day because the USB sockets were too loose (charging got disconnected a couple of times) so we had to buy an adaptor for us to be able to use the other socket. Hope they can improve on this! Overall, we had a good experience with Yesinn @ YMT! Thank you for the good experience and we'll definitely book this hotel again when we come back to Hong Kong.

Really had a good time during my stay in Yessin at Yaumatei. The place is near the train stations and has great restaurants just nearby. The best thing for me is that the rooms are clean and their staffs are accommodating.

I wrote a review on Google and they gaslit me in response, calling me "a quit sensitive person," so I'm going to leave my review on here as well, to warn others of this hostel as I wish I'd been warned ahead of time. This is the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in! From the moment I arrived, I was unwelcome by the staff members at the desk completely ignoring me. Later on during my stay, I encountered two of the staff who were actually friendly (woman with brown ponytail and another with a short black pixie cut). Unfortunately the majority of the workers here were rude and seemed to prefer sitting behind the computers all day without any sort of interaction. Even some of the replies to their reviews are super unprofessional, condescending, and demonstrate a serious lacking in customer service. Their inability to take any accountability and constructive criticism is concerning. In the hospitality industry, this is not okay at all. I’ve never seen any kind of behavior like this before. On a positive note, I can say the lobby area is nice and clean. The rest of the hostel should be held to this very same standard. The dormitory and room, however, were absolutely filthy and disgusting. I’ve stayed in dorms with multiple people before (and guys, at that) but never once have I ever had to stay somewhere that is so dirty, with hair everywhere, mold on the walls, sticky surfaces in the bathroom, clothes strewn everywhere. I wish that before booking, I’d looked at the low reviews on Agoda, since most of the reviews that pop up first are the highest rank. I don’t know how anyone could give this place four-five stars, as I encountered other guests who were staying in different rooms who told me they had to kill roaches multiple times. Hong Kong is quite expensive and accommodation is not the best, but do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else but here.

I’ve stayed in the 4 bed female dorm as well as a double room. Facilities are very good and housekeeping staff keep the rooms neat and clean. 2nd floor lobby has a place to do light cooking. Staff are very professional and efficient and friendly. 24 hour security guards in the building lobby, and elevators will only go to your floor when you place the key gob on the pad. Location is brilliant at the corner of Temple Street market, one block from the temple, numerous dining choices, buses and subway within a couple of blocks so it’s easy to reach any destination in Hong Kong. Self service laundry just across the street. Reasonable competitive rates. Highly recommend.

Its is probably the worst hostel I ve ever been. I wouldnt recommend you to go here, there are local people living there, its not a backpacker vibe at all, the neighborhood is scary (check areas before going to Hong kong). Quite dirty and rooms falling apart. There is a guy working at reception super unrespectful. There are 2 girls (Winnie and other one I dont know the name) pretty nice, they tried to help us by canceling the nights ahead (anyways with 3 days in advance only) so basically like the policy of hostelworld, no much more. But they upgraded us to a twin room which was a bit better, but still not good, they door of the bathroom its not a proper door, the sink is in the shower and really hard to use, honestly there is a big lack of engineering. (Picture is from the roof of the first room, that was my view before sleeping)

The service is very nice and the room is big enough. I really enjoy the sunshine through the big window when I lived here. The MTR is quite close to yesinspace hotel. So it’s convenient for us to go to work or school.
