Well at first hand we thought our stay was going to be a nightmare. We had emailed the hostel a week earlier to let them know we would be arriving the early hours of the morning for check in. That was confirmed ok by email. Only to arrive and they didn't have any beds. Thankfully we found somewhere for that...

Excellent Position. Rooms were very basic but clean. There were problems with the sewerage/plumbing and toilets did not flush properly (remembering never to drop toilet paper in toilets in China!) Some English was spoken by some of the staff on the desk - others very little English and a couple appeared disinterested in trying to communicate. The position of this...

I really liked this hostel. I think it was in a good location and we got it for a very good price. We got her private room which included a shower and it was basic but adequate. I liked the traditional nature of the hostel and thought it seemed friendly place. I would stay here again

It is very convenient. Near many of the town's sites and plenty of food options around that area. So it is good for this! However, I do not recommend taking their tours. It is expensive and in large numbers, so not worth it. I paid 280 RMB for the tour to Mutianyu Great Wall, not including the cable car ride...

First of all, I booked through hostelbooking.com for a three single bed room with toilet 2 months back. 1 week before arrival, I double confirm with the reservation but none reply(hostelbooking.com and qianmen hostel). I called qianmen hostel 2 days before arrival and a very rude staff scolded me and say hostel booking.com is not their authorized dealer and they...

Upon arrival we were checked in to a room in the middle of construction works. Obviously we did not accept. Our walk-out was kindly accepted though. However I am of opinion works of that size should have been communicated.

This stay was part of a stopover on the way to the Philippines. We had 2 rooms with private baths. A triple was 280 RMB and the double was 220 RMB. Given the time of year, my two main concerns were heat, and hot water. Both were no problem. After a long day of sightseeing, we had nice long, hot...

We have been here for a week and we enjoyed out stay here. The room had a big bed, a clean toilet and not beautiful looking but working shower. The only problem was, that the room got very humid after showering despite the ventilator. The staff is very friendly, speaks enough English to recommend some things and helps you if...

Good location and staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Didn't have much of a social aspect but rooms were clean with decent showers and bathrooms. Nothing to complain about, very nice stay here.

It was a bit hard to find and not the best hostel i've ever stayed at but it could have been worse. The location is really good and there are heaps of cheap restaurants in the area. The doorm rooms are quite small, the bed a bit hard but I got a few good hours sleep and the showers and...
