My first time staying in a hostel for a while so wasn't sure what to expect, but needn't have worried because it was a great experience. I shared a four bed room with two guys - they were really considerate room mates and the curtains around the beds provided plenty of privacy. The beds were comfy and I had ear...

Not sure how common this is, but be aware that your room might now have windows. If you're dealing with jet lag this could be a bit frustrating. On the plus, the location is great in a bustling hutong (though under lots of construction during our stay) and the complementary breakfast (sans coffee, which is extra) was also nice, though...

I got quite lost after I got out the Metro at South Luguo Alley, as they were fixing the the Nanluogu Alley the alley was blocked off. So instead of a 5-7 min walk from the metro, i was pretty lost for 40mins wondering around the hutongs. There is no other shortcuts to get back to the Nanluogu alley, therefore...

We decided to book our Great Wall of China tour through Beijing Downtown Backpackers even though we weren't staying at the hostel. I read up online about many tours going to the Wall and didn't want to go somewhere that was crowded, nor did I want to go with a tour group and be stuck following a guide the whole...
