I spent a few nights in Beijing on business and stayed at Raffles. I didn't quite know what to expect but can honestly say that it is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The lobby and public areas are all high quality with lots of interesting artefacts to look at. The staff were always polite and...

Stayed for four nights in November in the so called "slack season" when things seemed a little quiet in Beijing generally. Room - a business room king - was very large and though a little worn in places we thought it retained an aged elegance. Only minor issue was some difficulty in getting the room cool enough at the night...

We loved our stay. Helpful, knowledgeable staff, plush comfortable room, within walking distance of Tianan Men Square, the Forbidden City, and the National Museum of China. Raffles lease ended October 31, 2016, right after our stay. The Chinese Government was to take over the operations. So, not sure how it will be in the future. Best move the Chinese could...

Raffles offers an excellent location on Changan Ave. The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are within an easy walking distance of the hotel. The subway is down the street and there is major shopping and restaurants very close by. The public rooms of the hotel have been beautifully restored to highlight the 1920's classic design of the spaces. The breakfast...

This hotel is a excellent location, right by Wanfujing. Everyone from the doorman, to the front desk to the concierge are professional, accommodating, and make you feel right at home. The lounge is really comfortable with wonderful drinks. Don't miss the Beijing sling! Tonight I was very impressed, as we arrived clearly after the bar was in the process of...

The room is spacious but it needs to be renovated. I stayed there in mid Oct. The temperature in Beijing was around 12C degree at day time. The room was too hot, I couldn't sleep at all. The windows cannot be opend. I turned off the air-condition, the room then became cooler. The wifi is not stable.

We came for business and also pleasure. We were greeted by the raffles ambassador John who made our trip so much more enjoyable as his knowledge for Beijing was incredible. Places to visit, eat and how to navigate are all important so John helped us most days and he is very professional and enthusiastic about his job. The hotel is...

Background: I come to Beijing fairly often for business and have stayed at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Beijing Clubhouse, The Ritz, Intercontinental and Westin on Financial Street, The Peninsula Wangfujing, Mizhu Hotel, Hotel Eclat among others. Separately, of the Fairmont Group, I had stayed at the Raffles Beijing, as well as the Fairmont and Swisshotel in Singapore. I had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reflecting Oriental refinement and French élan, Raffles Beijing Hotel epitomises refinement and exclusivity. Established in the early 1900s, this luxury Beijing hotel was then proclaimed as “the only deluxe hotel in the Far East”. A century on, guest rooms and suites draw inspiration from the golden age of travel but are technologically enabled with discretion for 21st century living. Personality Suites pay homage to luminaries from the hotel’s fabled history while Raffles Inc Business Rooms cater to business travellers on the move.Indulge in gastronomic delights at this Beijing hotel. Innovative French cuisine takes centrestage at the elegant Jaan Restaurant which recalls the glamour of the 1920s with glittering chandeliers and its original timber dance floor. The vibrant East 33 meanwhile offers international fare and the popular weekend Seafood Extravaganza.Ideally situated at the crossroads of famous Chang An Avenue and the district of Wangfujing, Raffles Beijing Hotel lies in the heart of the prestigious business and commercial districts, a few minutes from historical attractions such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, the Silk Market, and modern marvels such as the ‘Water Cube’ National Swimming Centre and ‘Bird’s Nest’ Olympic Stadium which captured the world’s imagination during the Summer Olympics of 2008. ... more   less
