Not reading or speaking Mandarin, we could not have had a such a successful trip without the help from the staff at the Jade Hotel. They provided us with taxi, bus and subway information by writing directions in Mandarin that we could show to the drivers. They even booked our train to X'ian and reserved an excellent hotel for us...

The Jade is in walking distance to a number of attractions including The forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Qiananmen, and Wang Fu Jing. Rooms are a little on the small side but how much time do you spend in your room when touring. There is ethernet in the rooms and wifi is available in the downstairs lobby. Breakfast was included in...

I have stayed there for one week which was full of disopointments, room service is not changing anything but taking out the garbage, there is only one receptionist who understands you in english which is lydia, but sadly she is on nightshift, the rest of them does not even notice you, the location is acceptable but without the exact map...

This place has a fabulous location right in the heart of the main tourist district, walking distance from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Wangfujing. It's also a short walk from the number one metro line. It feels more like a hotel than a hostel, and has some of the cheapest rooms inside the first ring road. I stayed here...

I stayed here due to good reviews here in Trip Advisor. I can say that I was not disappointed. This place is ideal for those on budget & only wish to explore the city for less than 5-days. Location really is the best asset of this place. It's a 15-min walk to Tian'anmen Square/ Forbidden City / Beijing National Theatre....

As close as you can get for the price, to Tiannamen Square and the Forbidden Palace. Aslo the night market and other attractions. Rooms are pretty basic (and that is being generous), not very clean, and way out of date. Front desk staff range from disinterested to downright hostile. Breakfast is pretty terrible too. But again, if you can stomach...

First the good - the location is nice. Now the honest truth - the room is disgusting. There is no air until June 1 even if the temperature is in the 80s. I do not even want to think about the disgusting and gross stuff in the bathroom. we are stuck here on an educational program - but if you...

My wife and I stayed in a private room at the Jade International Youth Hostel for 8 days during March 2012. The location was perfect and it was very central to many historic and cultural sites. Most of the people at the front desk speak English and we didn't have any problems communicating with the employees. This is referred to...

It was my first stay in China and I was more than disappointed. It started already before my trip. I wrote a message to the Hostel to ask if it's possible to arrange a trip to the Great Wall and I didn't get any response. Arriving at Beijing Intl Airport I tried to follow the direction the Hostel just mentiones...

After a month in China had low expectations for hostels and hotels, but booked Jade Hotel for one night before leaving Beijing. The plus: mattress was softer than other Chinese hotels. People seemed to speak English. The minuses: the bathroom was filthy- there was mold all over the walls which we also found common in Chinese hotels, but the shower...
