Well I assume the great wall is the great place to visit for each and every person in the world if got a chance. I'm pretty much fascinated about it's build and the way it is. That's why the Hotel, Commune by the Great Wall meets up the need for people like me who want to visit the great wall....

This hotel is very original and very well located close to the great wall. The additional great thing is a private acces to the great wall which is a unic experience. The hotel is composed by several buildings constructed by architects severals years ago. This is for the positive points because a part that all the rest is negative. We...

We had a late lunch on the terrace after visiting the Great Wall. Highly recommended. Some thoughts:- - unique minimalist architecture - people who like modern interior design will love it - I loved the serenity - there's nothing else here but nature - gorgeous restaurant terrace, kitted out with high-end furniture - high quality dining experience See my photos...

Summer is best time to stay this hotel. We climbed the wall from a shortcut to the highest point and did some Tai Chi in the early morning! The view up there was great and impressive...tremendous experience for all of us...but one thing you need to remember: dress warmly when exercise in early morning, little chilly!

I stayed at the commune for 4 days as part of the workshop hosted by our company. I found the hotel to be amazing. The Chinese Sichuan restaurant has amazing food, much better than the western Redtaurant. The pink bar has great choice of foreign wines. The private access to the Great Wall is a treat like no other. It's...

We selected this hotel because it appeared to be the best option to get away from the smog of Beijing. My wife could not breath in Beijing. She was demobilized due to the smog. We were not able to do any sightseeing in Beijing while we were there. We decided to go to the Commune Hotel to get away from...

The good: The place is just magnificent. It's around 90mins drive from the Airport. We stayed at the Bamboo villa, which is an architecture masterpiece (Japanese feel). There are quite a few villas, and I'm sure the others are equally as stunning. For a group activity, we went with the mountain hiking route... which started off pleasant, and then got...

It's not the 5 star luxury hotel you will be used to. SOHO group in China took over mgmt from Kempinski recently. So don't expect that service level and you'll be fine. The rooms need some sprucing up, the F&B staff (polite but not well trained) and for the prices, the food quality needs some improvement. Room keys malfunctioned twice...

Was a great experience, lovely spacious rooms. However, I did have to shower in cold water on the first night. Love the trip to the Great Wall, was so beautiful. The hotel is just a bit far from the communes , and there was no minibar of food to nibble on at night.

The property was breathtaking, and the hike up to the private section of the Great Wall was very, very special. Over the course of our stay, I hiked up 3 or 4 times--twice in one day! It was great to see it in the "mist" (aka Smog) as well as on a clear day. The architecture and landscape was soooo...
