    Does anyone know what the underground walking condition from Kerry Hotel to a) Guo Mao and b)jintaixizhao subway stations are like in late August? For most cities we visit, street/ground level walk will get us to the nearest subway station. However, am unsure how the underground passageway link to these subway stations are like - we both have problems with our knee caps with escalators or lifts eliminating the painful process of climbing up or down stairs. Research has suggested the best way to get around to the usual tourist places like Tiananmen square, Forbidden city etc is via the subway. While taking a cab is a preferred option, there have been many threads in trip advisor lamenting the difficulty of hailing one especially during peak hours or when it rains. Advice on the approximate 600 meters or so of walking condition from the hotel to entrance A of GuoMao station (as opposed to jintaixizhao since it takes between 4 to 7 mins to connect between line 10 to line 1) is appreciated. Especially keen to know if escalators or lifts are present or if they are needed for our walk to the subway and the number of stairs one needs to navigate should escalators/lifts fail for one reason or another. Thank you kindly for your feedback and advice.

    It is an easy walk from Kerry Hotel to Guomao Station at street level, with only one escalator to get down to the station level from street level. You could take a cab because it is fairly easy to catch a cab from the Kerry... More
