We recently stayed at the Traders Hotel on a package tour with Chinaspree. We were in Beijing for 3 days and then went to Shanghai for 3 more days of touring (a whirlwind for sure). With my 2 kids, sister and parents in tow, we all had a fabulous time. The hotel is very clean, has a nice lobby, and...

We ended up here on a very cheap package deal and were astounded by the room quality. Great pillows, beds and bathroom amenities. The breakfast is a four line buffet covering both Chinese and American cuisine. You can have an omelette, fried rice or both! It's a little bit of a distance from the big sites but the room servi...

The room was immaculately clean and the drains, faucets, safe, other amenities, etc. were all in working order. Hair dryer is in the desk drawer. Our China Spree tour package put us up here--it was a very cheap trip so we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. They will give you down-free pillows if you request them. Breakfast...

This was my third time in the Traders Hotel in the last 18 months. Reception and restaurant/bar has been renovated recently which makes e.g. breakfast much more attractive. Also, staff seems much more service minded than before, would actually come back to the hotel because of that. Rooms are rather small but still slightly better than similar hotels e.g. Jinglun,...

I stayed for w week on business. The room size was average - nothing luxurious about the room or bathroom. Just a clean safe place to stay and very convenient for our company's local branch office. The bed was firm, comfortable with good quality sheets and down pillows and covers / Doona / duvet (whatever you call it in your...

Pros: perfectly situated in the business heart of Beijing (you can overlook the somewhat bizarre CCTV headquarters) underground malls, restaurants just beneath the building (even a skating facility!) easy access to main underground lines close (by Beijing standards) to historical places like Forbidden City etc. clean rooms friendly staff good cuisine (Chinese and international). You cannot starve even if you...

OK hotel, 4-star probably, probably renovated in the last 5 years, but small rooms and claustrophobic bathrooms. Service is good though, friendly, breakfast buffet not bad at all, vast choice. Issue is to get a cab from there, always a struggle. It is a member of the Shangri-La family, but do not expect similar hotel...It is also way below the...

Would definitely stay here again. The location is the big selling point -- it's a convenient walk or cab ride both to the business districts and to many tourist sites. The hotel itself was comfortable. Rooms are a decent size, the restaurant is fine, and there are other eating options in the mall next door. It might not be the...
