My husband and I stayed here. This was our first hotel in China and would not change the fact that we stayed in this hotel. Loved the location, your with the locals, the decor, the staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice. The bathroom did smell but was doable.

We picked Hutong over " Western " hotel.. because this is CHINA right? and we wanted to experience what its actually like, not just being holed up in a Western styled chain motel. This place is family run, and has that homely feel about it - the 3 girls on the reception counter ( Melissa, Yuki ) all spoke English...

We planned to stay here for 2 nights to get a better Beijing hutong experience, but the place has some real issues they need to address, and we ended up staying only 1 night. The major problem was black mold and the accompanying smell in the bathrooms of both of our rooms 207 & 208 (see photos) and the strong...

Nice courtyard hotel in Lishi Hutong. Nice and helpful staff with good English skils. Okey and quiet room for nice price. Nice to stay in one of the many old hutong of Beijing. Was only having the breakfeast in the restaurant, standard British. I can recommend this place for who wants a cheap place with a good location.

This hotel is a little gem, with friendly English-speaking staff and a location surrounded by cheap, convenient eating places. Exploring the local hutongs is a great way to spend an afternoon, and it's a relatively brief walk to the greater sophistication of the Wangfujing shopping strip. Tours to the main sites of interest can be booked at the hotel.

Stayed in this courtyard style place during late October to early December. The rooms on there higher level are better. Very friendly reception staff who are very helpful. We arranged a Great Wall Tour with them. There location is good enough, is on a side street but if you are coming to Beijing you have to get used to the...

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children (11yrs) stayed for 4 days here and loved it! The reception staff were great and spoke good English- very friendly and helpful with our questions. Great location for walking to Forbidden City and shopping street (Wangfujing). In the middle of Lishi Hutong- a typical living area. Our apartment was lovely- and although...

Location: 10 minute walk from metro station, partially mixed in with business districts-Starbucks near bus stop( Let's all be honest, you need coffee sometimes!) . The hutongs in Beijing are wonderful but can be in a mostly hutong area, or a mixed area like this one. We preferred the mostly hutong area, but this one is a mix. The hutong...

It's located in the Hutong, so you'll be in contact with an unusual style of life. PRO the location is quite good, near the centre of Beijing; the price is reasonable. The staff can talk and understand english in a good way. CON for 4 persons the room they gave us was a little too small; shame about the bathroom:...
