Initially when I stayed at this hotel two years back, I had no reason for complaint. But the standards have slowly dwindled downwards from the quality of food to lack of wifi and now even getting working television network is a problem. All this while the price of the rooms continues on a steady upward trend. I am disappointed to...

We booked this hotel mainly because of the location and because it was recommended. The location really is fantastic as you can walk to the old city and to Fort Jesus and also the markets. It has air conditioning which will be a plus for most people but we would have preferred a fan as you couldnt open windows and...

The soundtrack playing in the evenings in the courtyard and lobby bars is heavy on Michael, Whitney and other 70s disco staples. The dark teak doors, ceiling fans and window frames and other interior details evoke a 1940s or 1950s colonial atmosphere. The waiters in the restaurant and bar shuffle slowly in their old, well-worn uniforms in the thick heat....

The Lotus was clean, the rooms had A/C and mosquito nets and small TV's. The location was excellent for walking around Mombasa town, just minutes from Fort Jesus and town center. Tuk Tuk taxis were prolific just two minutes walk away but the hotel was located down a quiet alley so had very little noise. The staff were very attentive....

Friendly staff but too pricy for nothing if paying for bed only! Stayed for three days and it was not worth it. It might not be your wish not to eat anything, coffee offered very substandard for amount paid.

Quiet place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are stuffy and not so clean. Would visit again if I was sure rooms and beddings would be clean. Nice secure parking and good neighbourhood. Some rooms had smaller beds. The friendly staff were able to get me a room with a bigger bed.

This hotel has a friendly staff always looking to please and serve with the friendly smile not uncommon in Mombasa. Rooms are simple with bed, desk, air con, hot water, flat panel TV, phone, wifi. Laundry service was returned the following day without issue for reasonable prices. Breakfast was quick and filling with usual offerings (eggs, sausage fruit, etc). There...

We dropped in for an early evening meal, possibly just as the kitchen/restaurant opened. The welcome was crisp and pleasant and we were offered a table in the pseudo-courtyard or restaurant. Since the latter was clearly still unlit we opted for the indoor courtyard. Service was efficient and we opted for soups and fillet steak. Both were tasty and well...

This was not nice. When we entered the room there was a huge cockroach beside my bed. The blankets were dirty and the staff seemed not interested. The sleeping was certainly not nice, noisy inside and outside. Only the waiter at breakfast was friendly. For me it is very clear... I will never go to this hotel again.
