Set just outside of the Mara this is an isolated and therefore somewhat uncomfortable camp to reach , that said nowhere on the Mara is easy to get to !! The Camp , at this time of year , is a wee bit "sad" , there is no staff around for most of the day and there is a distinct...

We drove down from Nairobi to stay 3 nights as a post wedding celebration in Tipilikwani. Our party was a large group (24) leaving on Christmas morning to travel back to Nairobi. We used Twiga tours to drive us down and as safari guides. Excellent company, but that will be another review. On arrival we were greeted with cold drinks...

We stayed at Tipilikwani for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. What better way to start your day with a sight of 6 lions just across you when enjoying their delicious breakfast. Cant go wrong with their luxury Tents in the wild, Delicious food by their chef and welcoming staff.. Definitely a place to visit...

Kew thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay. The tents were very comfortable and as per usual the Kenyan staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The food was very good. The layout of the resort was also very good and the bar and dining areas are also well located and comfortable. I am glad we spent 3 days here as...

Arrived by flight and were picked up by the lodge car. Lodge toooooo far from the air strip. Took us almost an hour and half to get there. It was a rough ride. First impression of the lodge - received well at the reception and shown to our tents which are nice sized and looked impressive . But during the...

Currently staying here. 2 nights down, 1 night to go. Came in with my wife on a flying package from Nairobi. To get to the lodge, you pass through a town called Talek from the airstrip. We were picked up at the airstip by a sincere gentleman by the name Dee. Who was our guide and driver. The lodge is...

We had heard only "passing by" comments about safari camps and spotting animals. We didn't really know what to expect. Our stay was only two nights, mid-October. Tipilikwani Masai Mara Camp is a perfectly delightful surprise. Their choice to limit capacity to 55 guests reflects the values we experienced: personable, attentive service from all the staff, especially our host, George;...

This tented camp in within the National Park is located next to the river so it is possible to see animals coming and going. Staff were pleasant and service was good. Like many camps, the Dining, Lounge and bar facilities are located in a separate building, a short walk from your tent. Wi-fi is only available in the central area,...

We stayed for two nights at Tipilikwani and it was a wonderful well rounded experience. The tents were clean and well kept. Everyone of them has a balcony with a view over the small ravine surrounding the camp. Here we could catch glimpses of a handful of baboons, deers and other small animals. Even though the camp is not fenced...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This uniquely situated luxury camp on the banks of the Talek River overlooks the mottled plains of the Maasai Mara, where vast herds of wildlife co-exist with the colourful Maasai people. Between June and October the Maasai Mara plays host to one of the most spectacular wildlife shows on earth the great annual migration of over a million wildebeest and zebra as they enter the Mara ecosystem from Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania. Tipilikwani's tents enjoy river frontage and are decorated with warm, rich Maasai colours. The family tents have a stand alone bath tub in addition to showers. Excellent food, personalised service and traditional Kenyan hospitality further compliment the prime location. Game drives offer the unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the diversity of animals and birds living permanently in the Masai Mara, as well as many migratory species. Guests can also learn more about the Masai people, proud pastoralists and warriors, many of whom still retain their traditional nomadic lifestyle. ... more   less
