We stayed at the Royal Mara for 3 nights in Feb 2011. There were 7 of us staying in 2 double lodges and one triple. We booked the safari from Mombasa with Glorius Safaris (fantastic - seperate review!) and they recommended the Royal Mara to us. We are so glad they did the place is out of this world! There...

Royal Mara Safari Hotel. http://www.royalmara.com/ Hotel. On arrival we were greeted with some orange juice and told the rules of the hotel, basically not to go off wondering as it isn't enclosed. We were escorted by a guard every time we left our tent, back and forth the whole of the stay. We realised later on why that was, the...

WE chose this lodge before leaving the UK. IT is brethtakingly wonderful. Located on the Mara river adjacent to 'Hippopotamus Lagoon' and several of the Wildebeest migration crossing points; there are only eight lodges in the camp; all on the rivers edge. Spectacular hand carved wooden furnishings; enormous beds...absolutely stunning! The meals were all excellent. The staff superb. (A very...

Royal mara was spectacular. The level of service almost made me feel uncomfortable. The setting was amazing. Everything was just so good. We were picked up at the airstrip by Julius and drove about 20 minutes to the lodge. It was our first exposure to safari and it kind of blew our minds. We were on a dirt road, until...

We stayed at the Royal Mara Safari Lodge for 3 nights, including New Year's Eve. We've only gone on safari once before and so are relatively new to this. From the get go while we were planning our trip from...

The Royal Mara Lodge was indeed a positive experience for our very first safari trip together with our two children aged 9 and 5. The staff are quite friendly, the guides try to do their best and there was consideration for children which is not very common for lodges in this part of the world. We would choose the Royal...

We stayed at the Royal Mara Safari lodge for 13 nights (the longest stay in the lodge!!!). What to say, ALL WAS AMAZING AND UNFORGETTABLE: the location, the room, the service, the food, the environment, the owners, the park, the animals… We liked all of our stay, the breakfast near the Mara River, reading books on our veranda and at...
