We had a great stay (2 nights) at the camp end of April 2017. 3 game drives with an abundance of animals (the absolute highlight being a lion attack on a zebra only feet away from the Land Cruiser), relaxation in the camp with pool and massage, as well as bush breakfast, excellent camp lunch and dinner with overview of...

I took a flying package from Nairobi to Mara. The driver was waiting for me at the air strip... From then on though i was solo, everything was a breeze. The game drives, the food all so amazing! My tent was no ordinary tent...it had the most comfortable bed and all the amenities with an outdoor style shower. Was much...

Only positives here: we had a superb time at Karen Blixen camp. The North Conservancy is a truly amazing conservation project, so successful that it is probably more replete with animals now than the national park (which you can also visit and should!). It is a great feeling just to be contributing to that. The service was great. The staff...

It was fifth time we stayed in the camp. Only a pity we had to change place because of refurbishment. As always the atmosphere is great. Strongly influenced by Danish "hygge". Can be other camps have a bit more luxury ambience but this is fully compensated by great staff who offer good and friendly service

We had a great stay at Karen Blixen Camp in the beginning of February. It was our first safari and already on our ride from the airport, our driver Daniel pointed out several of the animals that I have dreamt of see. When we arrived to the camp we got a wonderful tent with a fantastic view over the river....

Living in the tents always listening to the sounds of the hippos in the river was really amazing. Combined with the changing view of the river, the rests between the game drives was made into another safari. The pool was a good possibility to clean the savanna dust and the always smiling and helpful staff made the total trip into...

We had a great trip to Kenya in March 2017 including some extraordinary days at Karen Blixen Camp. The time (mid March) was absolutely perfect. It is low season so we were completely spoiled beyond what is reasonable. The full staff team from manager to waiters (Mike & Lucy) offers us their full attention and did everything thinkable to make...

Stayed for two nights at Karen Blixen Camp. From arriving to leaving we felt very welcome. The camp is perfect. Tents are very comfortable, perfectly located right by the river. Food and drinks in the restaurant is perfect, staff very polite and they really made us feel at home and welcome. Most importantly the guides (Fred and Daniel) were perfect!...

We spent four nights in this magnificent lodge. Luxury spacious tents nicely colonial style decorated, and all with a porch facing the Mara river and wild life. Superb service from excellent local staff. Excellent food - not least having logistics in mind. We had probably the best game driver, Nicholas. Karen Blixen camp runs a school for local people and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Karen Blixen Camp in the Masai Mara offers an authentic ’yesteryear’ experience for visitors wishing to gain that little extra from their safari. Set on the bank of the Mara River; the location is spectacular. Throughout the day elephants, giraffes, zebras and impalas come for a drink while a large hippo pod rest lazily in the river. The Camp gives a feeling of the early 1920’s era with beautiful and comfortable furniture. ... more   less
