Lovely place. Excellent food, service and facilities. Only draw back is place is close to 2 major airports and its noisy all day with loads of aeroplanes flying overhead. We stayed in the family room. Beds for kids are small. So is the master bathroom . They have other types of rooms too. Couldn't see them as they were occupied.
Everything comes together at Ololo Safari Lodge. The staff is outstanding. They helped me with lost luggage that arrived late at the airport. The food is exquisite. The location is gorgeous and it was fun to walk around the grounds and on the bridge over the Mbagathi River, observing and photographing the resident wildlife and birds. A top priority for me was the excellent guiding on game drives in Nairobi National Park next door. I was told the pool was most refreshing. They even have a piano that guests can play, which I did, and it was in tune! I stayed at Ololo with 5 friends and we each had our own room, tailored to our budgets. All rooms were lovely. Mine was one of the stables. How cool to be able to stay at a luxury, renovated stable. I sneaked a peek at some other reviews and must agree with this statement: “There is however something special which is not tangible.” Throughout our trip the 6 of us traveling often remarked how delightful Ololo had been. For us it was booked as a place to launch our safari, but we all agreed it is worthy as a destination in and of itself.…
Beautiful boutique lodge on the edge of the Nairobi national park. One night break out of Nairobi and we feel relaxed and refreshed by the stunning nature, massage, excellent food and 5 star care by the staff. Will definitely come again! Thank you for taking such good care of us!
Ololo is one of those very special places in the world that well and truly gets under your skin! It is difficult to say what makes it so special - the wildlife (of course), the food (every meal we had was absolutely delicious), the staff (who were delightful - genuinely lovely people who go out of their way to make your stay special) and our room was so comfortable (we stayed in the Tower Room). There is however something special which is not tangible. Someone once said to me “when you know, you just know” and Ololo is one of those places. Huge thanks to everyone who made our stay so special and in particular to the owner, Mama Joanna who made sure we were well entertained throughout. We will most certainly be visiting Ololo for many years to come.
If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet and scenic getaway at the edge of Nairobi National Park. Ololo is definitely the place. The staff are friendly, shout out toJames Karisa who was always willing to help and very Friendly. Joanna is pleasant and always smiling. The food is tasty and freshly made . The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. The pool is small though. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and would go back again. I would suggest that they have snack variety options menu in-between meals incase someone wants to snack.
