Kind people and they helped us a lot. We were new to Kenya, but fellow visitors offered us great information about the country. There is a new owner though and prices have slightly changed (so I heard). Beds are okay, and showers are nice!

Stayed here a couple of weeks in their upstairs rooms which are more expensive and better than the dorms. The location is close to Giraffe Manor, Sheldrick's elephant orphanage, Kazuri beads, both Airports, all without having to go through the center of Nairobi city which is to be avoided because of dreadful traffic congestion all the time. Many restaurants close... More

We stayed for two nights before and after our Mara trip. Our overland company use this place as the starting point for their trips. The rooms were really unclean, smelt foisty and of smoke (people were smoking in communal areas and therefore the smell heads up the open stairways) and the bedding and mozzie nets looked unclean. I slept in... More

Staff where fantastic! Super quiet relaxed place and i love the area. Over priced dorm rooms, its run down, no beding! The owner went around swearing at the staff for all to hear, not nice and made me very uncomfortable.

This was our Nairobi base on a 5 month overlanding trip from Cairo to Cape Town. Nestled in a community of estates - it's walled-in with guards. When our truck pulled in, we were welcomed by the other trucks and their travelers. plenty of shaded space, tables and seating for lounging, friendly bar inside with great wifi. A couple of... More

...that was the answer we got after checking in the dormitory we booked online (U$15 per person). It was 11pm and we were quite surprised because it doesn't state on their homepage that nothing is included in the price. Very bad value for money compared to a average backpackers. Staff was rather unfriendly and not very welcoming, the location is... More

This place is pretty cheap and ideal for back packers and those that are not too fussy about their surroundings. It's got bandas and rooms and also area to pitch own tent. Karen Camp was basic but suited us for the beginning of an overland tour. I stayed in a room and also camped for a night and both were grand. The bar is good and the food is ok also plus the staff especially the drivers are very jolly.
