The hotel is very nice with a big garden in front. It is part of the Sofitel Winter Palace. It is very comfortable and completely safe from the boring street vendors! Perfect place to relax in Luxor after a day tour!

A 5 star experience all round, and at extremely reasonable rates - this is certainly the best place to stay in Luxor. You have access to all the facilities of the much more expensive Winter Palace, and even better views than they do of the wonderful garden, which is a real oasis

The hotel is very big and set next to the grand Winter Palace hotel once where the Brit Explorer Howard Carter stayed. The grounds of the hotel are very impressive but in December the weather in Luxor is very cool and you will need a jacket. The hotel is not the cheapest but as w

The Pavilion Winter Luxor is part of the Sofitel Winter Palace hotel. The Pavilion is on the same property but not as luxurious as the Palace. I paid $68 US /night including tax and breakfast. Get the best rate by booking directly at Accor.com

Pavilion is same Sofitel or different ???
We stayed at the Pavillion last December and will be returning again this December. It's half the price of the Palace, but you have access to all the amenities, grounds, and staff. If you are using most of your time sight seeing, makes sense to pay for a cheaper rate just to sleep in the Pavillion but have full use of all the palace perks. The rooms at the Pavillion are really nice and we'll sized too.

If I stay at this hotel can I use the restaurants and bars at the Winter Palace? ALso does this hotel offer walk in showers. Thank you
Yes - staying at the Pavilion Winter gives you access to the Winter Palace's concierge (who helped us with train tickets) and with reservations at the restaurant. Restaurants/bars are also open to the public. And my room had a bathtub with a shower head, not walk in.

See the previous review. The room is really hot cause it all face west and NO air conditioning in the room only in the hallway. Word er is it true. Some even check out right the way base on this and it make me nervous. We will go in Mid May, suppost is hot. Like to make sure it has a functioning air condition in room before I booked. Wonder is anyone can answer my question?
Rooms have aircon. The review you read was for February when Luxor is quite cool, so air-con would be off. Rooms face three directions, but all face the gardens i.e. NW, SW & SE I have a Google Earth screenshot on my flickr pages but not allowed to show link here. PM for one if wanted, or just use GE to see for yourself. Pls note that this hotel is no longer Sofitel, officially, just the Pavillon Luxor

"All rooms have garden view - we had a great view from the 5th (top) floor."
"Rooms under 20 have better views."
"There are numerous mosques near the hotel. You may have a better chance sleeping through the morning call if you room looks towards the Nile"
"Rooms higher up have better garden views."
