Wow, what a find! Located on the West Bank, near the Valley of the Nobles, the Ramesseum and Deir el Medina, this is a fabulous place owned by a local family of former tomb robbers, now changed to a more reputable profession. You really feel you are in a local place...very Egyptian. It sits right on a cultivated field and...

I haven't stayed there yet, so I can't speak for the hotel rooms, and so this is purely a review of the restaurant. The location is fantastic, on the West Bank, with the Valley behind, and mortuary temple remains/Colossi of Memnon in front, and with a spectacular view across the fields and to the Nile. Being an old dig house,...

Within walking distance to many of the sites on the West Bank of Luxor, the Marsam makes an ideal base to explore the area. Plus, you can easily reach the heart of the east bank with short taxi ride (20 Egyptian pounds - 10 minutes) to the ferry crossing (1 Egyptian pound). You will delivered right in front on Luxor...

We loved the Marsam Hotel! The garden area was just romantic and would you believe we woke up every morning to hot air balloons flying over our room? The owner had two camels. The food was one of the best we had in Egypt. The location was perfect for going around to all the sights. Rooms were comfortable although a...

My husband & I stayed here the first week of 2017 & it was exactly what I like in a hotel - historic, quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient to local sights. Cash only, so be prepared. We had wine & beer on the terrace every evening, and some of our meals in the restaurant. The breakfasts were delish. The little store...

If you want the noisy hubbub of Luxor go east if you want quiet and peace, the West Bank is for you and the Marsam Hotel in particular. Managed under the efficient and friendly eye of Klaus a German who is part owner of the hotel that belongs to an old established Egyptian family. It has 30 plus rooms and...

Super food. Amazing humour. Ask any of the staff about where and how to get around. They will help with any matter big...

Great place to have authentic Egyptian food. We had duck, pigeons, molokheya, grilled cauliflower & eggplant. The food was simply delicious. Restaurant and hotel are spotless. A bit expensive and overpriced. But definitely recommended.
