Mövenpick is one of my best Hotels around the world since I’m an Airline Pilot I’ve seen many, now Aswan has many hotels to choose from but if you’re looking for quality and high standards Aswan Mövenpick is the one.
This is my 5th visit to Aswan since I'm also doing my Law degree in Aswan University!
Summer time you can chill and relax at the pool where the great surrounding view of the Nile river catches you from both sides since the Hotel is a resort in an island. Now winter time is also nice to be in doors or out doors where you can enjoy your meal and a glass of local or imported wines playing in the background a live band through the night at the new building where the staff in general are super friendly and always helpful at anytime now if you’re going to hit the bar in the Lounge bar you will be greeted by the bartenders Ahmad and Wael with a big smile.
Rooms in both buildings are very clean with good view bathrooms are in top condition and hot/cold powerful water run is always the case.
Simply my choice every time I’m here.

Movenpick Aswan Resort is a beautiful haven by the Nile. The quality of service is premium , all rooms are over looking the Nile with breath taking views of the Nile banks , Aswan city and Aghakhan tomb . I had lots of special requests as I had elderly allergic family members traveling with me Ms Esraa and Ms Tayseer at the guest relations were super helpful nice accommodating all my special requests and more . I also had a great mouth watering experience at the different restaurant .

Elephantine Open Buffet breakfast restaurant was great , Mrs Mervat always welcomed us every morning with a beautiful welcoming smile . Service of Captain Sayed , waiters Ashraf and Nada was superior . I loved the Egyptian breakfast specialities falafel , eggplants and Fetir meshlatet were perfect .

I also had lunch every day in mezzeh restaurant , the views are relaxing and all the staff is quite professional from Mr Gamal the restaurant manager to Tarek the waiter and the great chef Fahd . I recommend the following dishes
Shrimps molokhia
Chicken Shawerma
Hawawshi

I had also desert and coffee in el Qahwa coffee bar , staff was excellent particularly Emad and Abdeen . I recommend enjoying free chocolate hour at 5 pm , walnut ice cream as well as various types of pizza and pasta .

I love the resort and the island and the out of the world Nile views , I also had a brilliant service with front desk staff and Mr Wael Duty Manager . It is also a good value for money . I will definitely be coming back and I recommend it to everyone looking for a luxurious relaxing vacation by the Nile .

This hotel is located in beautifully kept gardens on Elephantine Island in the Nile. This necessitates taking the hotel boat to reach it but results in a secure and calm location away from the hustle and bustle of Aswan. Our room overlooked the Botanical Gardens located on neighbouring Kitchener’s Island, and the sand dunes and tombs on the opposite bank. We only stayed one night after visiting the Temple at Abu Simbel but should have stayed longer to use the pool and eat in the roof top restaurant. We had a self-service breakfast in the Orangerie restaurant, where both continental and European options were available. This is a well run hotel and the staff are all very helpful and friendly.

We spent 4 nights over New Year at the Movenpick Aswan and got upgraded from a villa to the presidential suite. It was very large and comfortable and the views from our terrace were absolutely great. The breakfast room was super busy unfortunately, with screaming and coughing kids running around it didn't feel so safe. At the restaurant entrance, staff measured temperature and made everyone disinfect their hands at least.

It got a bit quieter after New Year luckily. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the older hotel (the one without the tower) and what could have been a memorable stay was marred by bad service and poorly maintained rooms. Check-in took almost 15 minutes. When we inquired about the Christmas Eve dinner which we were told was mandatory for all guests (by the tour operator), the front desk staff gave me what appeared to be a to-do list for the hotel staff. If I weren't so tired after a full day's tour, I would have found it amusing.

The furnishings in the room were worn and old but the worst was the cleanliness, or rather, the lack of it. The room carpet and the bathroom floor looked as it hadn't been vacuumed since the last guest left. The shower was not functioning properly and would occasionally dispense cold water. Thankfully, we were only here for a night.

The location of the resort (on Elephantine Island) is great though and we had a splendid view of the Nile from our room balcony. If only the hotel management bothered with some refurbishment and better housekeeping.

The Movenpick is just a short 5-minute ferry from the main traffic in Luxor but it was so relaxing to be away from the street noise and enjoy incredible views of the Nile! We asked for a Superior King with Nile View and our room 202 did not disappoint.
202 was a corner room with two balconies and it was lovely to relax outside in the evening on our front balcony. The room itself was well-appointed and our requests for an iron and down pillows were immediately answered. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby bar has very comfortable chairs and couches with attentive staff managed by Mr. Khalil. We also ate in the Panorama Restaurant on our last night...a bit expensive but sensational views of the Nile at night. The breakfast buffet was very good, too. Taking the ferry was so quick and easy...we never waited more than a few minutes.

We also visited the Old Cataract Hotel during our stay. While it is a lovely (and much more expensive hotel), I think the location of the Movenpick was superior.

Note to management: We truly appreciated the box in the lobby to collect used clothing. I have never seen this in any other hotel, but we like to donate or discard excess clothing at the end of our trips and this proved invaluable.

I was in Movenpick Aswan for approximately 6 months.

Location:
Eliphantine island middle of the great river Nile.
Very beautiful natural seenery all around the hotel location, which simply relaxing mind & you will get something special experience that can't be expressed in words.
Best part is small boat between island & river bank which gives you refreshing feeling everytime.

Rooms:
Very spacious, well maintained & clean daily with awesome Nile view & hotel garden.

Staff:
You will experience great hospitality & Co-operation from staff including house keeping, chefs, reception desk, room service etc.

Restaurant:
Food quality in breakfast, lunch and dinner comprises of lot of varieties including Indian. Personally for me deserts section is the best.
View from the restaurant at top of hotel tower is amazing, you will get complete city view around Nile river while dining.

Amenities:
There are many things available, but I simply enjoyed 2 large swimming pool which are daily maintained properly.

If you are in Aswan and looking for an awesome experience Movenpick is the place you should choose.

From the moment I arrived at Movenpick Aswan, I was treated as a princess and a cherished friend. The property is stunning with large rooms, traditional Nubian artwork sprinkled throughout the hotel, and amazing views of the Nile. Ferry service is provided every 10 minutes so it is easy to leave Elephantine Island. On my second day at the hotel, Abdel Nasser Ali (Guest Experience Manager) had his staff decorate my bed. The hotel wanted to thank me for staying at another Movenpick. Previously, I stayed at the Movenpick in Casablanca, Morocco.

The restaurants were exceptional with a fantastic assortment of traditional Egyptian/Nubian food and Western food. The restaurant manager and all the waiters including Ahmed and Abdou were very helpful.

A wonderful view on the Nile

Movenpick Aswan holds a wonderful location on elephantine Island in the center of Aswan, you take a boat to reach it.
The hotel has 2 buildings: old or tower and a new one. I was staying in the old, the premises are very spacious with a large pool and gardens.
The rooms are very spacious, but furniture is a bit rusty and old, the glass window was not and the pillows were large and firm, they gave me and my wife a room with 2 separate beds and I had to change to a king size bed room.
The breakfast and dinner buffet were great, with a large variety and an excellent taste.
The reception staff is friendly and helpful.
They have a lounge overlooking the Nile with drinks and shisha.
They have a restaurant in the tower 13th floor with a breathtaking scenic view

There are two buildings in this hotel, the old and new one. Despite this there is no difference in price and you can't pick between the two. When we arrived we were put in the old building. Check in was not great as they couldn't find our booking despite showing them our confirmation and they were very bad at telling us what was going on and why it was taking so long for us to check in. After seeing the state of the old building and room we were very disappointed. We looked up the hotel more online as we couldn't understand how such an old building and room could get such good reviews. We discovered that there was a new building. We asked to be put in the new building and they told us it was full but they would check and let us know. We went back to our room and waited for 30+ mins. After we didn't hear anything we went back to the front desk and asked again. It seemed as though they hadn't done anything as they just then started to check and said we could move. Overall the service was pretty bad and the fact that they charge the same for two completely different hotel offerings is quite deceitful. We also asked how much a taxi to the airport would cost. They said 250-300 Egyptian Pounds which seemed a lot. They offered to organise this for us but we declined. We looked the cost up online and it said 100-150 Egyptian Pounds. Seems like the hotel concierge also wants you to get ripped off. When we arrived on the Aswan side of the Nile to get a taxi a driver was there and said he was organised by the hotel for us. He said it was 250 to go to the airport. We haggled him down to 120. In the trip to the airport he called the hotel and said that the trip should be 250 and haggled with us most of the trip. The car was bad and he smoked the whole way to the airport. Really horrible experience. I would not recommend this place.

The short answer is no, not unless you take a boat/ferry, we felt "stranded" there as a result of this :) Unfortunately the hotel makes it appear that cafes/restaurants nearby can be easily assessed....well they can't unless you are willing to pay for your own water transport! Taking the hotel ferry involves going back to the other side of the Nile and then walking along the Corniche, paying for a ferry over to Elephantine Island and of course the same in reverse!! We felt captive and had we known of this situation in advance would have stayed elsewhere....such as the amazing Old Cataract Hotel that we visited....fantastic, but a little more expensive.
