Nestled close to the Pyramids, the Great Pyramid INN is lauded for its exceptional location, offering guests an oasis with breathtaking views and convenient access to attractions. Its rooftop is a hit for panoramic pyramid vistas, alongside commendable amenities and diverse dining options. Guests have called out the inn's impressive cleanliness and comfortable rooms, some with commanding views of the ancient wonders, despite occasional noise.
The inviting atmosphere, marked by Egyptian elegance, pairs with stellar service to enhance the experience. While some find tours pricey, the overall value, especially for food and lodging, is appreciated, though a few advise caution with paid shuttles.

Detailed Reviews
Really, the view of the pyramids from the hotel terrace are probably the best in Giza. You can enjoy the Sound and Light show for free from the terrace.
Rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast is pretty good.
You can take an Uber to downtown Cairo for about 60-70 EP, so this is a good, quiet location to stay while visiting attractions in Cairo, as well.

This Inn is situated so close to the Giza plateau that you can feel the majesty in your bones. The Great Pyramid Inn is directly across the street from the Giza Sound and Light Show. A small establishment, it is full of wonderful friendly staff; the efficient and charming Dina and Aladdin at reception and with the funny and courteous Yousef and Sam on the roof top restaurant and area. In deed, all of the staff were friendly and welcoming.
What sets this Inn apart from other places we stayed during our 12 day holiday in Egypt was the staff's friendliness and the unlimited free coffee and water that they supplied. On our arrival we were greeted by Dina and Aladdin who welcomed us with a cold juice, helped us change some money, introduced some of the other staff especially, Yousef and Sam and made us feel welcome like family. Having booked and paid through Expedia; when we arrived I gave my name and was about to produce a confirmation booking number - Dina replied "yes sir, we know who you are, welcome to the Great Pyramid Inn, your rooms are ready". We had been provided with a complimentary pick up from the airport. Every afternoon that we returned from an outing, they were quick to ask us if we had a good day, was there anything we needed and that it was glad to have us back.
The inside of the Inn is decorated with pharaonic paintings, statues and cartouches that give a lovely charm. Additionally, in the restaurant are some old photographs showing Giza in the early twentieth century provide a fascinating insight into the changing face of the area.
The food that is served at breakfast and at other times of the day is flavorsome and enticing. The breakfast consists of a buffet with fresh Egyptian and European items. A variety of freshly squeezed juices were available every morning. We had a lovely lunch just after arrival which set the stage of us enjoying the food at this Inn.
The rooms were clean and spacious. We had pyramid views which provided us with a wonderful sight when we awoke. We were also able to see some of the sound and light show as well. Our sleep quality was very good with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless and the hot water a welcome experience after a long day out in the cold winter weather.
If you ever get the chance to go to Egypt and decide to stay at Giza, do yourself a favor and stay here. We had the best time at this Inn and were wearing smiles the whole time. The friendliness of the staff is coupled with their dedication to quality service and professionalism. This Inn truly deserves its high rating. The three days we spent at Giza At the Great Pyramid Inn were a highlight of our holiday.

I stayed for three nights at the end of February. I had a pyramid view room with a balcony so that meant awesome views first thing in the morning. The room was good enough with two single beds and plenty of space. The balcony was a bit cramped and the shower leaked in the en-suite and wasn't very high pressure and was only warm in the morning. But that's ok as I was very happy with my view and as long as the bed is comfortable (and it was), I'm not too fussed about the rest. The sound and light show was on every evening, two shows each time. I didn't sit on my balcony to watch it as I saw part of it from the rooftop terrace on my first night and it was really cheesy and very lame. The first night was a guest party night which meant some decent hot and cold buffet food, provided free, and a bit of a dance show. I enjoyed this. The complimentary breakfast was very good and, if you put your mind to it, you could fill up enough to get you through most of the day. I was given a complimentary taxi ride from the airport. I used Uber to get myself back to the airport for a flight to Cairo. This uber ride cost 190 LE.
A bit of a niggle. The hotel had communicated via Booking.com several times to confirm the free pick up and to offer guided tours. I wasn't interested in guided tours as I'd already sorted that aspect of my visit. When I arrived at the hotel after a very long day of travelling. I just wanted my room, the bathroom and a rest. The reception staff however sat me down in the restaurant and said they were preparing the room and wanted to then sell me some tours. As I say I was exhausted and wouldn't be ready to discuss an itinerary there and then anyway. I said I was sorted and she then said what had I booked and who was it with. A bit nosy but I restated that I was sorted and she went to prepare the room. This took 20 minutes and I was beginning to think there really might be a problem. I was then shown to a city view room with a small window. As I'd paid for a pyramid view with a balcony I had to go down to reception and explain. I was then given what I'd booked. I'm tempted to deduct a star for this messing around but all in all, I was pretty satisfied and the staff were courteous and the rest of the service was good. So it's worth 5 stars looking at the bigger picture but I've made my point.

he Great Pyramid inn is a cute little hotel with views of the Great pyramids and the Sphinx. I communicated with the hotel regarding transport to and from the airport and tours. The hotel offers transportation from the airport. I could not use transportation as I was coming from a different hotel in Cairo, and the hotel would not provide transportation. There is a lot of traffic going into the hotel, so plan accordingly.
Check-in was quick, and everybody at the reception was friendly and helpful. I booked a royal suite with a pyramid view. Unfortunately, there was construction at the hotel outside the room, so there was not much of a view per se. The room was spacious, and clean towels were provided; the welcome fruit and multiple bottles of water were appreciated. The hotel will provide an iron box if needed. There is also a laundry service for a reasonable rate of 10 EGP per garment, which I found very useful as I had been traveling for three weeks. The staff was kind enough to store my luggage as I was visiting Luxor and Aswan and did not want to carry all my heavy bags. Thanks to the lady who arranged a tour of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and transport to the airport, as she arranged to have my luggage stored at the hotel. Thanks to the young man who helped with my luggage; sorry I did not catch your name. Ala Fayed at the front desk was attentive helpful.
The restaurant at the hotel was convenient, serving breakfast and dinner. You can ask for a to-go breakfast if you have an early tour. No alcohol is soft in the restaurant, but you can bring your own. The food at the restaurant was delicious, a mix of Egyptian food and other delicacies. Even though the restaurant included a service fee in the bill, the staff stated that they did not get any of it and therefore wanted additional tips. Khaled at the rooftop restaurant was very excellent, kind, and helpful. The rooftop restaurant had amazing views of the pyramid and Sphinx, especially at sunset, but right next to it was the ongoing construction of a structure to be used for a basketball event which took away from the beauty of the view. The building also interfered with the sound and light show running, which I was looking forward to. I did not venture out to the neighboring restaurants as I was traveling solo, and the staff warned me that the neighborhood was not safe at night.
Overall I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is not a luxury hotel but serves its purpose, and it is very close to the pyramids and, without the construction, has fantastic views.
Some things that need to be improved are as follows:
There was a constant noise coming out of the toilet despite flushing it. Sleeping with the bathroom door closed blocked out the noise. Also, because of the construction that was going on next to the room, there was noise up until late into the night, after 10 p.m. I called reception since it was very late, and they were understanding and addressed the situation. Wifi worked well in the room and lobby and nowhere else. It was pretty much nonexistent in the restaurants.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, next to the pyramids, (very) bad WiFi. Will consider staying here again
We liked the cleanliness, the proximity to the Pyramids, the fact that you can literally go to the terrace and have the full view of the Pyramids. The location is literally outside the gates of the Pyramids. We enjoyed having the breakfast and having a view of the Pyramids at the same time, the opportunity to see the Pyramids at different times in the day, ie sunrise, sunset at night. We also saw the sound and light show from the terrace.
The staff treated us as if we are very special VIPs. Aladin, Hossam at the reception and Ali Baba the breakfast server were simply brilliant. They also offered us a tour, which included driver with a guide. The tour was somewhat expensive but it was great and we believe that we made the right decision to go for that. Also, the tour included stops at commercial establishments. They were presented to us as museums, it will be good to at least be transparent about this from the get go.
If you are looking for a guide from this hotel, I will recommend the ones we had. Ahmed was our guide and Mido was our driver. They were both excellent.. The traffic in Cairo is chaotic yet we felt very safe with Mido's driving.
The breakfast was delicious, and included a fresh orange juice, omelette for each visitor, lots of varieties of cheese, jams, cookies, fried potatoes, a meat item (eg sausage one day, another option the next and so forth), olives, salad, white/brown bread, pound cakes (though we didn't like the taste), 2 varieties of yogurts, butter, couple of jam varieties and perhaps a few other things.
The hotel provided for a free pick up from the airport via a private taxi/shuttle. And we arranged to be dropped off to the hotel as well
The hotel is in an area where the locals also live, and we liked that as it gave us a perspective into the lives of ordinary Giza / Cairo residents. There is plenty of security around, and we felt very safe, even walking by ourselves at night
The Wifi was the biggest issue we faced. I think the max speed we would get will be 200KB/sec, and that is when its working. Suffice is to say, if you want to stay at this hotel, assume that there is no internet available. We did inform the reception about it, and they tried to reset the modem etc but to no avail
There were couple of times when we were promised things and yet they didn't happen. For example, we asked for an iron and the reception said it will be delivered immediately to our room, yet that didn't happen. When I called again the second time, they delivered but this one was a broken iron. I requested for a replacement but the replacement didn't work too, By this time, I gave up
In the grand scheme of things these are relatively minor issues for us as a clean hotel with a decent staff, proximity to the pyramids and being able to plan tours is what we were looking for.
All in all, we will definitely consider staying at this hotel again if/when we plan another trip

Very nice hotel just in front of the Pyramids and Sphinx, over the street of Sound and Lights. The hotel is amazingly decorated like the Egyptian temples, it has a nice vibe. Front desk staff is very welcoming and helpful. I had a great pyramids view from the room. I spent just 1 night here and i had a early morning flight. They gave me the breakfast to go which was good and fresh.
The view from the terrace is worth all the money, it is absolutely mesmerizing.
One thing that was really bothering during the stay was the renovation that took place on my floor level, they started painting something with spray paint and the horrendous smell came into my room and it was unbearable. I went down to reception and the receptionist came up with me and asked the workers to stop it and then he even placed an incense diffuser at my door to make the air nicer. It worked.
Besides this incident, everything was fine and i really recommend this place. I would probably come again in the future.

I stayed there with a group of friends. Some in rooms with view, I was in a quieter "normal" room ( it was clean, very quiet, far from noises of street or lift... very convenient if you have light sleep).
All staff are incredible friendly and helpful (even those who don´t speak "european" languages) and try to make you feel at home.
Breakfast: variated and with "hot dishes" (you have to ask, as they don´t have it on display)
Views of Giza Plateau and Pyramids is amazing from the top roof restaurant (staff there just ... incredible good proffessional and friendly (special thanks to Ali Baba and Jusuf)
Front desk: they help you with any needs you may have.
Location: just across the pyramids (it is a bit smelly and noisy at certain times....it is a "passage" out of all the visitors in pyramids)
Good value for your money.

My wife and I stayed at the Great Pyramid Inn for 6 days and from the time we got there at 1:00am until the left we felt incredibly safe and like part of a family. Check in took 5 minutes and our 3rd floor balcony room overlooking the pyramids was clean and ready. We had the free breakfast every morning with a mixture of local and international food and Alibaba was always ready with for us with a smile. Dinner was inexpensive with a good selection of food and drinks. You also get to watch the sound and light show at the pyramids free from your balcony or the roof top. We had originally planned tours with a budget company and we are so happy we booked with Dena (sp?) through the hotel. Our guide Ahmed and driver Alibaba (different than the restaurant Alibaba) took us on an amazing adventure for 4 days of tours of the Giza plateau, Cairo Museum, Mosques, Islamic, old and Coptic Cairo, Memphis, Dashur and Saqqara. One of the first things our friends asked was did we hire a professional photographer and from the pictures Ahmed took of us you would think so. Ahmed is an Egyptologist and his knowledge is amazing. Alibaba also drove us back to the Cairo airport and this stood out the most of our entire trip. My wife had some stomach issues and when we told him he pulls the car over in town and runs in to a store and buys her a drink to help her stomach. I wish I could remember everyone's name as they all went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

Highly Recommended
The Great Pyramid Inn is an excellent place to stay during your Egyptian adventure.
It is located a two-minute walk from the entrance to the Great Pyramids complex and across the street from the Sound and Light Show entrance.
Although the ambiance of the street outside of the hotel is rather underwhelming with its Middle Eastern backstreet “charm” (complete with camels and horses.} Once you enter the hotel, you will be very pleasantly surprised. The lobby is decorated in a beautiful ancient Egyptian motif.
The economy rooms are basic and small but equipped with flat screen tv, air conditioning, refrigerator, telephone and very comfortable beds. The shower has plenty of hot water. Never ending bottled water is provided free.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is rather good with a wide variety of choices to include meats fruits, breads, and omelets, The inn has a restaurant also with a wide variety of options at a reasonable price. KFC and Pizza Hut are nearby, and the area is fairly safe, but I never felt the need or desire to eat outside of the hotel except when on tour.
Free pickup at the airport is provided upon arrival. You do pay for transport back to the airport at the end of your stay ($30.) You can change dollars to Egyptian pounds in the lobby. One cannot change Egyptian pound to dollars. Tours can be arranged at he front desk at competitive prices. They will tailor a tour to your individual desires. Tip: The pyramids are often covered in thick mist until late morning.
No need to book a room with a view of the pyramids. The view from the restaurant and lounge are just spectacular. You can see all three pyramids and the Sphinx and they seem so close that you could almost reach out and touch them. It is almost like stepping out of a time machine.
The hotel is very clean. The staff is constantly about cleaning and polishing everything.
I do have to say that this is the most service-oriented hotel that I have ever stayed in and I have traveled to over thirty-five countries. This includes the front desk personnel and the restaurant staff. They simply cannot do enough for you and always polite and with a smile.
I would happily stay at this hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in December and I was very impressed with their overall service, attentiveness and willingness to accommodate my needs. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I arrived in the evening just in time for the sound and light show - the rooftop view is spectacular by the way! The next morning I went to the pyramids and was supposed to check out by 12 pm but I wasn't back at the hotel until after 2 pm. They kindly held my room for me with my bags in it and then offered me my breakfast which I didn't have time to eat in the morning. I spent the next few hours on the rooftop eating my breakfast/lunch and waited for the sunset. The hotel also arranged a taxi for me back to Cairo. A very pleasant experience overall. Just as a side note, there is absolutely nothing to see or do near the hotel apart from the pyramids. There are also very few restaurants and only a couple of shops to buy snacks/water etc.

No problem with hot water when I was there.
Yes, The hotel is couple friendly. Don't worry
No. This is a fantastic hotel!!! Great staff!! You will love this hotel!!! Not noisy at all!!!
no that is not true , we give bed sheets
Does your wifi work in all rooms? I noticed some reviews that say the wifi does not work. Thank you.
The WIFI is a hit or miss. What I did was to get the codes for each floor. When one wasn't working, I changed to another. The lobby WIFI is excellent. This is a hotel you want to stay in for 1 or 2 days, as most people do. The pyramids are literally across the street. A couple of negatives, the area is full of agressive kids selling trinkets and begging for money. The streets in front of the hotels during the day are full of the droppings from horses and camels... they do clean up at night. The plus is this hotel has the best view of the Sphinx and Pyramids, including the light show. The management and workers are very attentive. The food is good, including the free breakfast. Enjoy!
