This hotel used to be part of the Oberoi group, now Marriot. My sister stayed there 20 years ago, and nothing in the rooms has changed much. The AC blows straight onto the bed, and out of 9 of our group, 4 got sore throats. After the first night, we went to the Egyptian Museum and returned around 4 PM. The room was not made up. When I called the reception, the answer was that it's only done by request. I demanded to speak to the Manager on call, and he apologized profusely and promised to train the staff better. The restaurant's views are spectacular; unfortunately, the food is another story. While it was OK, it's not even remotely 5 Star quality. I had to send my spaghetti with oil and garlic back three times before getting it right. To give credit where it's due the breakfast buffet was excellent. The pool is excellent, but nobody would stay there anymore if there were a hotel in that category with those views. Now, it's perfectly fine for three nights; nobody is really going to see Cairo for its beauty. The whole city looks like in a small/medium earthquake, and the entire thing will collapse. The last night was a wedding going on and we had to get up at 4 AM to catch a flight, the noise was unbearable and way past midnight the drums or whatever contraptions they used to make awful noises kept everyone awake. If you really want to stay in a 5 Star Hotel in Cairo, go to the Four Seasons, it's directly on the Nile, and the food and room are 5 Stars.

Spent 4 nights here over the christmas holiday. We planned this trip way in advance so had no problem getting a pyramid view executive level room. I would recommend this upgrade to anyone just so you can open your patio doors and look the pyramids all day and night. But if you can't get one, there is much else to recommend the resort. What we liked. -On site made pita bread. They have an outdoor oven where they made the puffy, slightly grilled bread all day. -The breakfast buffett. You can sample local food or stick with your american favorites. -The food in general was good - the seafood soup! - and not overpriced. -Room service was quick. -Others have mentioned the parties. Yes it was loud when there were two weddings on xmas eve. But they ended at 11pm sharp and it was a bit of culture you normally wouldn't see. -Location to the pyramids. This meant that when we wanted to see the pyramids we were there super early, before large tour buses coming from Cairo, and got to be in the great pyramid ALONE! -The bookstore at the hotel. Hard to find, randomly open, but the owner was so engaging and it's a good place of find a few quick items to take home. -Executive level included fruit and wine. Sampling a local wine was a treat. What we didn't like. -Despite the pandemic, the buffets did not have sneeze guards and you used common utensils. At other hotels on our stay they had sneezeguards and dedicated staff to serve you so you didn't need to share utensils. -HVAC was a bit weird. We couldn't get the fan to work and we would have like that at night to get some air movement. It seemed to only work if you had the AC on. Which we didn't need because the weather was perfect. -The executive lounge was a bit disappointing. After been to a few in other cities, they usually have a view and more food during the day. The breakfast and evening was nice but there was not much during the day for snacks except a few cookies. All the extra water and local drinks were wonderful however.

We had a great stay at this hotel in Jan 2022. We stayed in a pyramid view suite and it was worth every penny. It was amazing lying in bed and looking across at the pyramids. I also have to say that Sandy was one of the most friendly and helpful front desk agents that I have had the pleasure of meeting. She really went above and beyond to make my wife and young baby feel special while we were there.

hotel was great, no complaints it was too cool when we were there to use the pool but the grounds were very well kept. we showed up late when it was dark and when we woke in the morning our room had a view of the pyramids -- it was cool extra special thanks to super host Magby and the rest of the restaurant. i have a lot of food allergies and they were very accommodating to my many special requests
