Reasonable level of service throughout stay. Wait staff always pleasant, however they had great difficulty at times understanding english language.
Rooms were typical of 2/3 star hotel. A good clean would make a hec of a difference.
Not the best location, away from all the action of Cairo. Able to see the Nile River from the roof bar/pool area. Roof top area also 'grubby' and in good nead of a good clean and springclean. Meals and drinks all overpriced. No real options unless you choose a taxi to take you into Cairo. Our taxi driver from Cairo got lost and we went round in circles for almost an hour. Hotel recommended taxi into Cairo demands three times the usual taxi fare. If staying here and heading to Cairo, hail yourself a taxi in the street. It will be cheaper with less hastles!
Best experience is upstairs pool/bar area. Cannot however see pyramids from here due to smog. Worst experience is the dirty rooms/pool area.

Stayed here as part of a tour, so was expecting things to be basic. However, found the room on the ground floor to be large and spacious. Bathroom had a nice large shower cubile. May not be the most modern hotel, but overall was comfortable and well maintained (but would be nice to have abit of updating done). Buffet Breakfast had a good choice, seemed to satisfy most people. But evening meals were buffet style and the food was not kept hot, so perhaps best to get there when the buffet opens. Not much to do in the surrounding area and appears to be "out of the way", but this did not matter so much to me as had already had trips out as part of the tour. The out door pool was nice, but alittle cool in november as did not seem to be heated.

I had one night stay in the hotel, the room was clean but the hotel lobby is very small, WiFi only available in the lobby and very weak, the neighborhood is very boring, no places to go, also not a high class neighbor, didn't seem a good idea to go out at night.
also the neighborhood and the roof has mosquitoes.
the breakfast doesn't have high variety, and far from the downtown.
if it is only one night trip it would be ok, more than this it would be so boring

It was a nightmare to come through the security gates of this hotel being checked like a criminal,
the hotel is located in a poor area with animals and sheep living 100 m. from hotels entrance.

the Nile view is OK, but if you looked anywhere else you'll hurt your eyes with disgusting views of animals and vulgar areas next to the hotel.

The hotel is overlooks a crowded street with traffic jams all day long, that's not the problem; but the nightmare is that there's no sound isolation for the rooms so you can hear every tiny little boy shouting in the street as if it's right behind you, not to mention the vehicles' and trucks' horns and ambulance serine.

I booked 4 nights, but couldn't stand more than 1.
- very dirty and noisy location with animals on the street
- away of all city attractions and no Cafes nor Restaurants near by.
- very dirty roof and pool area
- very bad room view overlooking random rural area
- front desk wanted to charge me the full stay in advance in order to lock me with them
- very bad breakfast, actually some of the dishes had rotting food.
- room had no carpets and nothing on the floor.
- very old furniture, actually some of the chairs were broken.
- incompetent management that made no effort to make our stay better not even a word or any guest-relation activities.
- should really be downgraded to 1 star or closed altogether!

One of the worst experience ever at this hotel..the hotel manager didn't allow us for early check-in despite vacant rooms and asked for $150 for 3 hours!!
We had to sit in the reception area for 3 hours. This hotel is situated around the most ugly part of Cairo and one sees only garbage around and foul smell in the area.
The hotel staff is greedy. Every worker in the hotel wants to mint money out of you and acts as a tout for taxi, local trips etc.
The room was shoddy and a very basic bathroom. No internet and the breakfast was just average.
This is more like a 2 star hotel but is highly overpriced.

This hotel do not send your postcards.
The service at the restaurant is very slow, and they do not have many of the dishes or beverages on the menu card.
It is a very noisy hotel because of the traffic.
On the positive side: there is a roof top terrace where you can see the pyramids far away.
The window could not close but they fixed it as good as they could.

We were at this hotel for 4 nights. It was far from most things and there were no decent restaurants near it at all which is a bit annoying but you know I'm one for adventure and quite enjoy the thrill of the chase and we eventually found a local spot for some barbeque chicken, beef and kofta, brave move cosidering all the flies and cats that we had to do battle with as we ate. Next day, victory, no gastroenteritis to report and that was all we ate for the 4 days in between our long drive to down town (egyptian pyramid, cairo tower), the pyramids of course as well as islamic cairo and the citadel.

Cairo is a nice tick box to have (notice the lack of use of 'nice' or 'beautiful' quite simply because it ican't simply be described with either of these adjectives) however my stay in this hotel was the only dark part of my 2 week travel through Egypt. As soon as we arrived the staff were throwing tourist attractions at us at extortionist prices (once we looked it up in the lonely planet), room service and hotel food was needlessly expensive especially as the hotel is in a dump called Giza (hence why we ate at the local everyday). The internet didn't work in the room and they took their time in fixing it. The safe in the room stopped working as well and again they took their time to respond to our cry for help, needing 10 minutely phone calls downstairs to explain to somebody new that our safe and internet weren't working especially having paid for the internet (wireless isn't free but reasonable price but considering it was free at all 3 other hotels we stayed in egypt, how reasonable if Egyptian£50 (£GBP6.25) - even a bigger dump downtown where we stayed for the last night before heading back to london had free fast wireless internet that worked).

Of all the things that went wrong myself and my mate overlooked it and put it down to culture differences and the fact that it wasn't the hilto even the fact that we had to put towels down to stop room flooding from the bathroom. But what was too far was the fact that having booked at a rate of $55 a night for the first 4 nights of our travel, on trying to book for our last night of 2 weeks back at the same hotel, the first question a certain not so gentleman greedily asked 'how much are you paying now?' to which I replied 'it's in your system'... he then requested that i pay $80 for our last night which infuriated me and so i explained to him we were currently paying $55 and reminded him that it cost me nothing to book a different hotel online but thought it best we stayed having put up with the crap for 4 days, we felt we could do so one more night (not in those words) + surely having paid for 4 days, we shouldn't pay an increased rate. He spoke to his manager and they said they could give it to me for $70 as the price had 'gone up'.

Reader, I was overgasted and flaberwhelmed. Astounded and dumbfounded. Infuriated and furious as a result. I merely put my shades on, picked up my 70 litre back pack, gestured to my friend with pure mental and emotional exhaustion and left. It didn't even cheer me up that Amr, the one good thing about this hotel did his usual getting us a cab to our various destination in arabic. We tipped him well as we headed for the bus station for an epic 6hr ride to sharm el sheikh where i was able to put the nightmare behind me at the great hotel we stayed in (oonas dive club hotel: read my review)

Please don't stay at this hotel, please! It's in a dump of a area, some of the staff are okayish but when they look at you, they only see dollar signs: it was only after I had left that I realised the receptionist who was there everyday didn't substract the deposit I had initally paid online from the final payment so they took our deposit as well as well as full paymentl. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free or I was paid!!
