Dahab Hostel, Your Oasis in the City... It has been open since 1998. It has been registered in all the major guidebooks and has consistently received positive reviews. Dabab Hostel is centrally located in the heart of Downtown Cairo. It is just a 3-minute-walking distance to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Sq., and within easy reach to the main train and bus stations. Dabab Hostel has its own special charm. It is a collection of whitewashed huts on the rooftop attempting to recreate the feel of Sinai beach camp in an unremittingly urban Downtown Cairo. Once you get inside, you will definitely sense the totally laid-back, chilled out and cozy atmosphere. The outdoor garden area is just superb for lounging around and catching up with other travelers in the evening. The breeze is refreshing and the vibe is incontestable. It is an ideal place for artistic travellers as well. Enjoy the fantastic reggae music played, laying back in the sun, smoking Shisha 'Water pipe' on the rooftop at the Bedwin corner. Dahab hostel is an oasis of calm amid the hectic streets of downtown Cairo. I loved chilling on the roof and taking in the beautiful view of the city. Somehow this place was always full of amazing people - either the super friendly guys who work there or the guests themselves. Aside from being really cool in general, the staff were also happy to help with anything from airport transfers to covid tests. The facilities were also nice, there wasn't anything I wished for. All in all it was a great stay and I'd recommend it to anyone :)

Just a really cool vibe in general, rooftop hostel with sun always shining, open kitchen during covid which means you can cook for yourself or others... Lots of cats and plants. The staff are really friendly and Willing to help with your itinerary or tourist activities. 24/7 reception is really helpful and the price is worth it for the great environment and exposure to loads of other travelers you'll soon befriend. Currently £E 150 Egyptian pounds for a single room, but an amazing packaged deal £E 2000 for a month (roughly £E 60 a day) which you cannot find any competitor for. Cheaper to share a room also. Reliable WiFi and best location you could wish for. Cheers to the guys at the hostel for making me feel welcome... Brighan x

Super friendly and helpful staff. Quiet space and cool hang out areas. The location is good, walking distance from most needs and the hostel is high enough for it not to be noisy, which is a blessing in Cairo.

Picked up by a driver from the airport (whilst uber could have been cheaper) this was hassle less. The staff were very friendly and helpful - even given a cake on arrival for my birthday which was very sweet. What i most liked about this hostel was the shower had hot hot water (a must for me), meeting other solo travellers along the way (some of us travelled to other regions together & kept in touch), oh and no insects bites from the room. I regularly used this hostel during my stay in Egypt as a stop off to and from Sharma, Hurghada and back to airport. If you're looking for something central, with friendly staff and some where you can lay your head to rest this should gets the job done. P.s i hope you like cats they do have a few roaming around lounging ;)

Solo backpacker from the US. Everything about my stay here was more then amazing, I couldn’t have asked for more. 1st time in Egypt & they made me feel at home from the very beginning at the airport pickup. You won’t find a better location either, nearby everything! Room, bathrooms, showers, kitchen, and all the lounge spots were very clean. They offer tours for everything in Egypt as well from the hostel which was really nice and convenient. They helped me purchase my train ticket to Aswan & so much more. But what really made my stay amazing, was the hospitality. I’ll definitely be back again, and would recommend this place to my closest family and friends. Thanks Dahab Hostel!!
