Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This site was a good value for the money. The first time I went, I had a three person room with a bathroom in the room so it was very convenient. The second time, I had a shared room with a bath in the hall. The location was near the Cairo Museum, food venues and great shopping. Mr. Atef and the staff were very helpful in directing us around Egypt and providing tours. I would recommend and hope to go back again.

King Tut hostel is a nice place to stay in, as a tourist all what you wish for a place to stay in is there, from hot water in tabs, AC, internet, TV, clean rooms and beds..... well, it shouldn't be rated as just a hostel.... I'm not gonna tell how nice the stuff are there in this place, they also arranged a trip for me to the pyramids and Saqqara, which I really enjoyed and appreciate. It is worth more than the little money I paid. If I go back to Egypt, King Tut is the place to go to.

KIng Tut Hostel is not a hostel-there are only rooms[some big] and all have bathrooms. As the prices reflect, it's fairly basic- but clean with comfortable beds and bedding and - and there's satellite TV in the rooms. When I was there they went out of their way for me- eg. went down to help me get a taxi which is cheaper than booking one. They can also help with booking tours and train tickets, not asking that much commission. It's about 5 blocks from Midan Tahrir where the Egyptian Museum is and a metro station to Old Cairo[ Coptic Cairo]. There's a McDonalds right opposite and two wonderful bakeries nearby.

This is a nice hostel - good location in downtown Cairo, near to lots of shops, busy street cafes, a fruit market and a 10 minute walk from the Egyptian museum. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. You can arrange any trips and tours you want with the hostel staff. There's also a nice friendly common room with TV which is a sociable place to have a chat in the evenings with other guests and the staff.

We stayed at the King Tut Hostel for two nights in March 2010. We were in Cairo to see the pyramids and the sights, of course ! The room we had was large, comfortable, and well appointed, and the bath was very clean. The staff were not only friendly and courteous, but went out of their way to insure that we had a driver to take us around Cairo for the day, a driver to take us to the airport when we had to leave, and generally made our stay enjoyably memorable. I especially liked the time we were able to spend having breakfast in the morning room to start each day.
