We stayed here for 3 nights. It is within walking distance of the Egyptian Museum, a subway stop, a good restaurant, etc. The place is showing its age, but the staff are very friendly and it felt safe. Make sure you talk to the old Scottish lady who lives there - she is a hoot! I'd recommend bringing your own...

We felt great at Lotus Hotel in Cairo. Of course, my expectations very low, but you can't expect that much for the low price you pay. Our room was simple, spacious, clean and everything worked like it should, also wifi. The staff was very helpful, the location is great in Cairo and it was relatively quiet. When we go again...

We (2 grown ups and 3 youngsters) had booked a hotel Downtown to be close to the metro, Tahrir Square, and the Egyptian Museum, and the location was perfect. We were bringing extra towels, toilet paper, etc, knowing that this is a basic hotel, and we needed some of the stuff. Also, we were not surprised that the hot water...

Great location, right in the heart of downtown, but the building is very old and very run down. Really only one star standard. The owners are friendly and helpful, but a bit disorganised (think "Fawlty Towers").

Had such a wonderful time at the Lotus hotel. Emad and the other crew who run the place are absolutely lovely and honest people. As a sole female budget long traveller, this was a great place to stay. It was clean, met all my needs, and I always felt safe and at home here. Also, I loved how the Art...
