I'm not trying to be unkind but this was not a great experience for me. The lobby is a construction site and the whole hotel is filled with concrete dust. The hall to my room smelled so bad I had to hold my breath and then the smell in the room wasn't that much better. It was also freezing. And...

The Cellar is a Cairene institution. You know what to expect. Very Egyptian. And just the same after all these years (not in a bad way). Your neighborhood bar. Good music (great dancing tunes). And a decent vibe actually.

This is a solid 2 to 2 1/2 star hotel. Basic furnishings in the room (including a box TV, didn't know those still existed!). But importantly, staff was friendly, hotel was safe, and bathroom was clean. If you want more amenities, niceties probably stay at novotel or sofitel, but if you just need just a place to rest your head,...

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for one night and weren't that impressed. The services were okay, just average. The people at the desk couldn't speak very good English and it was hard to go anywhere/see anything without worrying about our safety. If you're staying for one or two nights it would be okay, but wouldn't recommend for...

The staff is very nice. They are the picture of professionalism. I am a solo woman traveler and they made me feel safe and secure. The breakfast was amazing. I had a view of the Nile. And my room was clean and the air conditioning worked very very well. This is my second time staying at this hotel and I...

Staff was great, accommodating, nice, and always willing to help. Rooms were great, comfortable. Bathroom was good, water was warm. Wifi only in lobby and restaurant, but whatever, who needs wifi all the time, it was just a short walk away. The breakfast was delicious, very traditional and with healthy options. Price was cheap, location was central to many stores....

the first question in the reception is : are you Egyptian? if yes you will find: your room in the 4th floor with out a lift, the television is working but with no channels, the bathroom is not very good.

This place is ideal for those wanting to be in the heart of Cairo yet stay in a peaceful and safe area (Zamalek). Walking distance to Downtown Cairo, lots of great restaurants and cafes around plus you have some great nile-front cafes/restaurants such as Left Bank and Lemon Tree Co within walking distance which is PERFECT. Rooms and hotel itself...
