Chose this hotel for the first leg of my trip in Cairo as I wanted to spend time downtown and see the museum. Perfect location in the middle of town - 2 minutes to the museum. Rooms are good size - a bit small, but very clean and well appointed. Staff - some are quite friendly, some ok (i am...

In memory of Fares Seruphim, elegant and kind proprietor of Golden Hotel in the '70s. One of a kind. The place was shabby then, but his heart was pure gold. Now it's a better crib, and in the center of town near Groppis, where the retired pashas go for ice cream and coffee. Or to Filfila nearby for fool.

Sherif, the owner, answered my phone call at 2am when I had to find a place to stay very unexpectedly. He was courteous, helpful, and willing to wait up for me while I got my stuff together and made my way to his hotel. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning and hot water worked like a charm, and Sherif...

We stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, the location was good, about 2 mins walk from Tahrir Square, and the room was clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cairo.

Spent a night at this hotel 2 x nights ago. It's real. By that I mean it's very Cairo, a little run down, unique, urban. Great location, clean rooms, very nice team (they sent a guy to the airport do my visa so I didn't have to stand in the long passport queue), owner drove me back to the airport....

Very central area. Over priced for a budget option. We had to wear shoes at all times and immediately took of the bedcover and pillows as they smelt in good need of a wash. Breakfast was simple but enough. The prices they quoted us on tours were 4 x more than most places.

We were sent to this hotel after the Grand Royal did not honor our reservations, but charged for them (you can read our review of that pile of garbage). Even before the owner found out about our story, we felt like we were valuable customers. The room was nice and the bed comfortable, which is priceless after 48 hours traveling,...

Our room was very clean with an en suite bathroom. It was near the back and quite quiet even though it is a very busy area. We found the staff very helpful. The breakfast was great and we sat out on the balcony overlooking Talaat Harb. It is an easy walk to the Egyptian Museum and a metro station. Some...

Coming back from Hurghada I had selected another hotel which unfortunately was under renovation so I was taken to this hotel. I had apprehensions about the hotel but was met warmly by the staff and the owner of the hotel. Actually even though I did not get a balcony room the accommodation's were good. Sat on the balcony with the...
