I spent one night there and then ran away; they didn't even let me drop my bags they were asking for money. I had already paid by Booking, with my credit card (and it happened that there was a problem with the website but they didn't even try to understand or contact the platform, they just wanted the money, the money, the money, as if I was a criminal and was about to disappear without paying). Very rude. The room was poor, the furniture was old, the bathroom just clean, and the final prince was higher than the one I announced. They canceled the stay on Booking.com the day after I left to make sure I wouldn't review them. Avoid: many nice locations around, with better value et service.

As some people mentioned already, the hotel entrance was not so easy to find. The hotel is located on the 4th floor of the building and you may miss the sign. Also the elevator is like 30 years old... But everything else was great! Easy to check in, the room was very clean and updated. Especially the shower was really nice. Hope they had a chair and some towel hangers in the room (may be other rooms have, we took a last room since they were pretty busy) Great location if you don’t mind traffic noises, and breakfast was huge! Pleasant stay for us. Close to the museum as well.

The staff is really nice and attentive. Breakfast is abundant and tasty. The rooms are good in space, clean and the bed hyper comfortable. Great option! Don't miss the entrance: most hostels in Cairo are inside big buildings and don't have much signs on the outside. This one on a building that has a "Tulip" sign on the outside (the Tulip of the left). Plus the entrance is not very promising but once inside is quite nice.

The room I stayed in was fantastic, the best I've stayed in while in Cairo. Once I found the hotel, the lady at reception was very nice and helpful and I was in my room within minutes. I'd booked one with a balcony but this room didn't have one and the lady moved me straight away next door - they had given me the other room as it was bigger but I love balconies. The view over the square was incredible and I could read my book out there in the mornings, the bed was big and comfortable, there was a fridge (the quietest one I've ever known) under the TV (and super cold) and bathroom nice and clean. The area is a strange one - it is proper downtown Cairo and I soon found restaurants and takeaways. The only thing I had a devil of a job finding were bars. The Stella bar is ironically around the corner but it's rubbish and I got kicked out of my seat by the waiter (!) when a bigger party came in, but Cap D'or up the street was cool. As usual you can't trust anyone on the street, as they're all after cash but the hotel itself was faultless - totally recommend. The night receptionist was also lovely and helpful. Trips were offered but not pushed, just right. BTW, it's ten minutes away from the Egyptian Museum of Cairo and a further 5 minutes' walk will get you to the river.
