it's a breakfast review for the hotel terrace, we didn't use the hotel rooms itself but used the breakfast service at the hotel rooftop, was a hot day in August but went fine, the breakfast was so delicious and reasonably priced, service was excellent too and taking all the Covid-19 measurement strictly, clean toilets as well, make sure to reserve ahead and state any special request, view also was spectacular.
The hotel is in heart of the historic center of Cairo. It's better to ask for transportation from the Hotel itself or through a travel agency since the vehicles need police permission to enter the historic center. The place is noisy at night which makes it uncomfortable during sleep. Also, it's difficult to just roam in the historic center due to the vendors. It's better to have a tour guide and tourism police, easy to roam without the vendor's disturbance. We got the room with theme Music which was well decorated and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and the staffs are excellent. The restaurant on the rooftop was an excellent and nice place to get great pictures of old city.
We stayed here for three nights in Nov 2020 in room 10. Each room has a theme and Room 10 is “cinema”. It has a large bathroom, reading room with desk and couch, while the bedroom has TV and king sized bed. Staff at the hotel are attentive and friendly. The Manager was great! Our breakfast was included and served until 10.30 am each day on the rooftop with a great view! Try the Lemon Mint drink - delicious! Hotel is in walking distance of the Bazaar. Many eating opportunities around the area. We had family members stay in room 11, which was a bit larger and had a balcony, however they mentioned the street noise was even louder than in our room 10. The street in front of the hotel is lively until midnight each day. You also have to get used to the morning prayers starting around 5 am - speaker seems to be right across the street. If you turn on the AC it helps to drown the street noise a little bit. Nonetheless, the hotel is beautiful and unique if you’d like to experience a boutique hotel instead of another Hilton or Marriott. …
The food and atmosphere were incredible, to say the least. Our stay was 3 nights, Nov. 8-10, 2020. The nighttime is lively and noisy in a good way. The call to prayer can be heard...And at around midnight, the streets roll up and you'll have a good night! There was AC available and a safe for belongings. Very, very charming. You will not regret this stay. The pyramids are about an hours drive from here.
Ate at this rooftop restaurant in Old Cairo. Great views of Islamic Cairo. Had a whirling dervish for entertainment which was fascinating while we ate lunch. Many options to chose from with good service. Limited elevator but otherwise can walk up six flights of stairs to the restaurant. It is a short walk from the bazaar where interesting local life can be seen en route.
