One of our best places that we visit for sure We will recommend this hotel to our friends and family the hotel has an amazing nile view and a wonderful city view with the cairo tower and opera house also we got our dinner at one of the best restaurants ever at the hotel rooftop. Thanks for the staff starting with a talented guest relation also reception team and the helpful house keeping team.
Had a great business gathering and Ramadan iftar with my team, very friendly supportive catering staff I l'd like to send them all a shout-out of respect! The food was pretty good, quality is good . Highly recommend
Incredible stay! Staff was very attentive, quick ti respondand addressed all of our needs in a timely manner. The rooms was prepared and cleaned upon arrival. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the amenities were simple and high quality. Looking forward to our next stay here in Novotel Cairo El Borg
The hotel is situated on the nile front, has Nile view and City view, the latter overlooks Cairo tower, accessible and close by Tahrir square, metro and downtown. I had a Nile view room and it had a beautiful view in the morning and so was it in the evening, room was nice in terms of space, fits easily for sofa bed and double bed, the only down turn is loud music coming from ferries. Reception staff were very friendly specially Amr, and another female I met on the check out day, Hotel has a huge opportunity on cleanliness, and they could do a lot better. Buffet had limited options but could get you there. secured premises.
On Tuesday 12th April 2022 my family booked a stay for eight nights at your hotel whilst visiting Egypt and the Pyramids. I used the Novotel El Borg as we travel very often using many Novotels in the past and always found them good value and clean and useful. Unfortunately on this occasion we could not have picked a worse hotel !. We booked through Booking.com and booked a superior room clearly stating our childrens ages. When we arrived for the duration of the eight days we encountered one problem after another after another. It was absolutely disgusting. Here is the list of problems we have encountered : 1. As mentioned we booked a superior room but when we were shown to our room the actual room is what I consider to be less than a standard room. I booked a superior room with a double bed and a sofa bed. The room we were given consisted of 2 single beds !!! for 2 adults and 2 children. The room was also less than standard. I have stayed in better hostels than this room. Where was my children supposed to sleep ??. On entering the room I went into the bathroom and to my horror found excrement on the toilet seat where the toilet had not been cleaned properly. (Please see attached photo). I immediately went back to reception and was quite bluntly told all the rooms were superior and that the hotel had no standard rooms. This is clearly misrepresentation and false advertising. What are the rooms superior to ???. Anyway we were moved into a slightly better room but only for one night as we were told a local football team were staying and the room was needed for them the following night. So after one nights stay in this room we were told to move or we would be charged an extra 200 euros a night. How rude and absurd !. The room we were eventually given for the remainder of out stay had a sofa bed for the children but the sofa bed was so small that my 13 year old boy had his legs hanging out the bottom for the remaining eight days. 2. We tried to make the best of our stay but continued to encounter numerous problems. 3, On day three we used the hotel swimming pool. at around 5.30pm I came back to my hotel room with my two children but my wife stayed by the pool. She went to leave the pool shortly after 6pm but found that the lifeguard had gone home and locked the door to the swimming pool and locked her in. Obviously no check was done to see if anyone else was still in the pool area. As there was a very poor signal on the phone my wife could not phone me to say she was locked in. My wife suffers from anxiety and was getting very nervous being locked in. Despite banging on the door no-one heard her and she remained locked in for over an hour. Eventually she got a faint signal and text me to say what happened. I immediately went to reception to say what had happened and we had to wait while the receptionist found the person who had the key to let her out. Her anxiety was off the scale by now. This was extremely poor by the hotel staff and very dangerous. 4. On day six of our stay we went to the swimming pool again and at one point I went past the male lifeguard who was sat on a chair in the corner by the door. I could not believe that he was asleep and I could hear him snoring !!!!. How disgusting is this ? What would have happened if a child was in trouble in the water ? the lifeguard was fast asleep ! 5. I booked the hotel as it clearly stated there was free wifi throughout the hotel. How wrong was this ?. The wifi never worked in the bedroom and in the foyer only a very weak signal that took absolutely ages to do a single thing on the internet. This caused me huge problems as I am a businessman with my own business and was unable to conduct any business whilst on holiday resulting in me losing many hundreds of pounds in lost revenue. 6. On the first night in our new room we had no bedsheets for our children to make up the sofa bed. I phoned reception and was told someone would be straight up. after one hour nothing so I phoned again. after two hours nothing so I phoned again. after three hours I was now angry and went to collect the bedsheets myself from reception ! 7. One day we used the gym in the hotel. When we got back to the room we noticed the cleaner had left NO towels in the room, so again I phoned to request towels. It took me three phone calls and three hours later before any towels arrived. Totally frustrating !. The list goes on. As you can see it was a very frustrating and unhappy stay at your hotel, and I would request that you refund my stay with you as you misrepresented this hotel on your advertising and never gave the client what was promised equally you put my familys lives at risk totally ruining our holiday. As the streets of Cairo are not particularly safe we had to spend a lot of time in the hotel somewhere where the facilities were nowhere near up to standard. Last week we had a phone call from the hotel asking us how our stay was. When we described the above to the caller he told us that he was sorry would look into our complaint and come back to us within a few days. Guess what ? He never returned the call summing up the standards of this hotel. I do not like to leave negative feedback on social media but We have given you the opportunity to respond and nothing. I will await a response withing the next seven days before taking further.…
