Took a 10 day stay at the hotel.

The hotel is very well located, walking distance to the Woosang bus stop (3 mins) and also to both gangnam and yangjee (10-15 mins) station.
While coming from the airport, you can just get down at the Woosang bus stop and walk to the hotel.

The hotel staff is really nice and helpful. The reception people helped me find ways, some translations and also find some touristy places to visit.

Had the breakfast included in the stay, though all 10 days the breakfast menu was the same.

Got to stay in their service apartment, rooms were small but very comfortable for a single person to stay in.

In the middle of Gangnam, it's not necessarily easy to find a simple, nice, and thrifty overnight stay. There are some cheap serviced residences, but they are cheap and not very new. Of course there are motels, but that's if you really want to stay in a motel.

Then I found Urban Place Gangnam, a rather new thrifty hotel just south of Gangnam station. It's located a off the main street, in a small alley, but once you get there, you may be pleasantly surprised. You walk in past the cafe to the service desk, which is quite friendly. A standard room is fairly standard, but it is clean and modern. For under 100 USD a night, it is well worth it, especially for budget travelers or those who demand quality even on a budget.

If you are looking for a budget hotel, but don't want to compromise on quality, and you still want to be in the middle of all the action, Urban Place Gangnam certainly fits your needs.

I enjoyed my stay at the Urban Place, its beautiful and pristine, the staff are always willing to help. they speak good English that communication was not a problem at all. the rooms are small but they are comfortable and have all the amenities you may need in a hotel room. Its so close to the Gangnam station and mall. There are a lot of restaurants around and bars if you are interested in such. I totally loved my stay there, next time I am in Seoul that will be the place I will stay..

Dear Guest, Thank you for review. I am so happy to hear you had a good experience with us! Urban place is well furnished hotel and located near gangnam station as you commented. And also you can easily access to any tourist spots, i.e. Kyeongbok palace, Itaewon, Korean traditional village, garosu-gil and so on. Once again, thank you for your positive thinking of Urban Place. We look forward to meeting you again in the near future. Thanks and best regards, Yeonjin Jeong

Is a fanny apartment set up room with no catering tools provided. Not sure what is the little kitchen in the room is for?

Excellent night life location, for dancing and drinking. Not too far from the Gangnam subway station either.

The room is clean and tidy, shower is with good temperature and water pressure. However the one little tube of shampoo and shower gel each, were not enough for 2 people.

The overall stay was pleasant apart from the mistake that locked me and my friend outside the room as the hotel somewhat deactivated our card key one night.

Hotel has good location in the city center, surrounded by shopping stores. Many restaurants and subway station are in walking distance. Room is small but very clean. All rooms come complete with small kitchen and refrigerator. The bed is comfortable. However breakfast is not good at all. Poor selection, nothing to eat.

We stayed for 2 weeks in an "Urban Suite". Nothing really wrong with the room but the "suite" part consisted of a washing machine, gas hob, kitchen sink and full-sized fridge freezer - none of which we used. Perhaps the space saved removing these could be put to better use (a bigger bed perhaps).
Lots of room-tech but all with English instructions.
Negatives: Couldn't check-in till 3pm, but the hotel looked after out cases to allow us to explore the local area. We had to learn for ourselves that the heating needed to be turned on for a hot shower. There were toilet/bidet instructions but you can only see the functional buttons on the unit in the reflected surface of the toilet roll holder. A very urban view from the window (tower block across the street) but you'd expect that almost everywhere in Seoul. Towels and bedsheets were sometimes a bit worn or stained but clean. A couple of minor issues raised with reception were addressed immediately.
Biggest positive for us is its location - 5 minutes walk from Gangnam metro and 2 minutes to central bus stops (including 6009 airport bus). Underfloor heating was most pleasant. Room was very well sound-proofed. It didn't overly bother me but my sleeping position had my head within inches of the washing machine.

We didn't use the restaurant but noticed it (as well as the breakfast/bread counter in reception) were considerably more expensive than local outlets.

Overall very happy with the stay.

I stayed here from 24th to 28th October 2016. The room is quite small but I think its price is reasonable when the hotel is at Gangnam - the expensive area of Seoul. The room is clean, the receptionist very nice and helpful. I will still stay here when I have chance to come back Korea.

For a reasonably priced place, Urban Place was a good surprise. The room is basic but clean, minus all the frills of what a 5 star property would give you. However the hotel looks new and well maintained, ... it doesn't make you feel like you are staying in a 'cheap' place. The location is such a plus point, you can get around easily and there are a lot of places to eat around the area. There is a convenience store on the ground floor and at least 3 coffee places just down the road.

One thing to note though, I was in the standard room and if you come as a couple I do feel that the bed will be a tad tiny for two (especially if you are of a Western body frame). Maybe you can opt for a bigger room (but am not sure what is the bed size ...).

I will definitely come back here, and glad to have found this place!

The rooms are nice, clean and comes with a kitchenette. Some of the rooms even have their own washing machines. Perfect for families who are staying for more than a few days. Quite conveniently located within walking distance to their nearest MRT.

The manager and staff are extremely helpful. Look for John, the front desk manager. He is extremely professional and friendly.

Great place. Would come again

Tiny rooms but the room we had was well designed and had a kitchenette and sitting area. Very complicated controls for hot water and control of other devices. Nothing is in English. Uneven floor levels are potentially dangerous for older people or physically challenged people and present a falls risk. I almost fell once forgetting there was a step down into he bathroom. Bed is a small double with no room at all around bed. Be warned, for two European people it is cosy. And like most north Asian beds mattress is rock hard. Lots of food choices in lanes around hotel. Metro is close, but still a 10 minute walk, and in February's cold this is hard work. Very clean, but room was not made up on one day, English speaking staff just giggled when informed . Wet and damp towels were not funny. We paid for a hotel, not self service. If I could rate this property 3 and a half stars I would have based on this reaction.

I am not sure u can, but I don’t think u need that either. Cos eating out or convenience stores are not that expensive in Korea, comparing with many European countries.

Hi! The shuttle fare is KRW 15,000. It is way cheaper compared to the taxi fare. On my way back home from S.Korea, I happened to miss my bus, and I was already running late, so I had to take the taxi which cost around KRW 80,000. The distance was from Suwon to Incheon airport. Definitely, recommend you to take the bus! Make sure you do not miss your stop. I was lucky because I knew how to speak in Korean! Have a safe journey!
