We spent there only one night waiting for our plane to transport us back home.
Hotel is close to the Seoul station and to the city center. From station we took a taxi (orange one) and for 3900 KRW we get to the hotel. Yes, it is hardly find for taxi drivers, but using GPS navigation we stopped just few steps from our hotel :-). It is in a quiet area, but still close to main attractions of the city center (the N-tower is in reachable distance - 5 minutes of walk to the elevator).
Nearest metro station is 5-10 minutes on foot. Although with our baggage (two suitcases) we went to metro on foot after check-out and it was easy walk and we saved up 10000 KRW for a taxi (from hotel they only can order you deluxe black cab). Price for metro ticket was 2700 KRW for both of us.
Rooms are clean and a standard asian size with big and comfortable bed, almost new furniture, fridge... Free wi-fi in disposition.
Breakfast buffet was with limited choice, but it was tasty and good prepared. There is a lot of local restaurants around the hotel with reasonable prices and a very good taste of food.
The hotel is suitable for people who want to explore the city and spend there not so much time. It fulfilled our expectations and needs and we will come back for sure...

We stayed at Namsan Hill Hotel for four nights in June. The rooms are small but exceptionally clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the old precinct at the base of Namsan Hill. Situated on a very quiet, narrow street. It is close to everything you would need, the markets, main shopping mall, cable car, subway... All less than five mins walk. There is a laundry service across the road, 7Eleven down the hill, and plenty of local eateries and coffee shops. We would stay there again.

My husband and I had a great stay in this hotel. The place is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful especially the owner. The owner spoke english and it was easy communicating with him. Fantastic location and near subway station. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.

NamSan Hill Hotel had no reviews on Trip Advisor when we booked it, but it was built only six months ago and was promoted as a 3-star hotel on other sites, so we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.

NamSan was very difficult to find. Per the hotel's email instructions, we took Airport Limo Bus 6015 from Incheon Airport to the Namdaemun Market stop and then looked for a taxi stand. Unable to find one, we lugged 150 pounds of bags along bumpy sidewalks while trying to hail a taxi. Two drivers didn't recognize the hotel name and didn't speak English, so they wouldn't take us. We were starting to panic when, finally, a third driver from International Taxi (specializing in foreign language taxi service) had pity on us. He was going on break, but we looked so lost that he waved us over.

Even with the hotel address in hand, the driver had to phone dispatch for assistance in locating NamSan. We were only about a mile away, but it's in an obscure local neighborhood, and you can only get there via a one-way, winding, narrow road.

Upon arrival we were surprised to see another hotel directly across street that we'd considered booking, which had very good reviews on Trip Advisor. But they had nothing available except basement rooms without windows, so we passed. Turns out it didn't matter whether we had a window because the view from our 4th floor room at NamSan was of grungy roofs and electrical wires.

We had some difficulty getting from the taxi into the lobby. The hotel entrance has three steep steps on the right and a very steep ramp on the left, rising from the road to the door. While wrestling our luggage up, we wondered if we'd actually tumble backward, until a hotel employee saw us struggling and rushed to our assistance.

Check in was friendly and uneventful, though the desk clerk spoke limited English. He couldn't answer basic questions about points of interest in Seoul.

We were surprised when we opened the door to our "Deluxe Double" room. The entrance hall is barely wider than the door. A 4x7 bathroom adjoins the hall, and a 16 ft x7 ft area contains everything else. The 'king' bed advertised is actually a queen bed, tucked into one side of room. You have 12 inches space on each side of the bed to maneuver. An obese guest would have difficulty getting in and out.

The mattress is extra firm and rests on a hardwood base. There's no box spring. Hubby couldn't get comfortable and didn't sleep well at all. You can choose a large firm pillow or smaller firm pillow.

Decor is mundane - all beige on brown. Floor-length brown curtains cover half the exterior wall and are way too overbearing for the room. They intrude on your 12 inch space on one side of the bed. Since the window is only 3 ft x 4 ft, I have no idea why they hung 8 x 8 curtains. And they're not even room darkening, so you don't sleep late.

Yes, we've stayed in smaller rooms in a pinch, but they weren't promoted as Deluxe Double rooms. This isn't Deluxe. It's a basic room.

You're provided one room key, and the power goes off the instant you pull the key card from the power slot on the wall (no delay), so it's difficult getting in and out of the room in the dark.

The room is quiet enough. Even located next to the elevator we heard no hall noise. But since we had to keep the window open for the smell (more later), we heard construction noise nearby early each morning.

Opposite the bed is a large flat screen TV on the wall. You need eagle vision to see 16 feet across the room. There's a tiny closet with mini-refridge. Two gratis bottles of water are provided daily.

There's no shower door or shower curtain, so the bathroom gets soaked when you shower. The shower has two nice showerheads and plenty of hot water. There is no tub.

Toiletries provided include shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, body wash, comb, wet wipes. There's no electrical outlet in the bathroom, so you can't shave or dry your hair. Towels are small and thin. There's no full length mirror. Slippers are provided, but they were far too small for Hubby and too narrow for my feet.

The room smelled fine when we arrived, but later we began to notice a faint sewer odor. We covered the shower drain with a towel and kept the door closed to try to minimize the odor. By day three, the stench was so strong we had to keep the window open in 55 degree temps. And the outside breeze brought us the smell of fish cooking in the neighborhood below. Talk about aroma overload !

A hair dryer hangs in the closet and is plugged into an electrical socket there. Try drying your hair in the closet! A water kettle is provided, but no coffee or tea.

Furniture includes two teeny night stands and a tiny wood table with 2 wooden chairs. You can't fit 2 laptops simultaneously on the table, and you can't sit for extended periods on the hard chairs.

One afternoon when it was pouring rain, we found out you can borrow umbrellas from the front desk. But after walking just one block from the hotel, one of the umbrellas blew apart, so we returned. Staying in we discovered that the TV offers only 3-4 English language channels, with nothing to watch.

Wi-fi is free, and the signal is good so, if you can manage somehow to get comfortable, you can spend hours on the internet if it's raining too hard to tour.

Air Conditioning is controlled via the TV remote, but the front desk clerk said it's only for AC, and not for heat. We didn't find any source of heat. You can also control the lights with the TV remote, or on a touch panel on one wall. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. We never did figure out which buttons go with which lights.

Complimentary breakfast is served for only 90 minutes, from 7:30-9:00 a.m. We didn't bother getting up to eat after the first morning. Instant coffee is served in miniature paper cups so thin that you need two, or you'll seriously burn your fingers. The breakfast 'buffet' includes sugar-ade juice, white toast with butter/jam, dry cereal options including cocoa puffs and sugar flakes, pineapple that tasted canned, lukewarm scrambled eggs, meat or fish, and items I couldn't eat first thing in the morning like lettuce salad and a couple of noodle-meat-vegetable concoctions.

The upside is that the hotel is located a 10-minute taxi ride from some good tourist attractions, like N Seoul Tower and the Sky Cable, or Myeongdong.

NamSan Hill Hotel isn't a 3-star hotel. It might merit 2.5 stars if they did something about the sewer smell. I'd never here again.

NHH is just behind the Woori Bank. Walking past a few restaurants, grocery, convenient stores, salon, etc. In other words, it’s easy to find, access to subway is also near. For 2 adults & 2 kids (6 & 10yo), we stayed in their Quadruple Room, bed is comfortable enough. Although the room doesn’t have much space aside from the space between the wall & the beds to put our luggage’s but overall ample space to walk thru. Don’t expect a view it’s just the building right in front of the hotel. It’s actually like a hidden hotel. Breakfast is tasty as well always a different menu (American/Continental/touch of Korean). Reception is friendly, we didn’t see much staff around I guess because we go out a lot.
One thing, I guess my family is particular with is the toilet & bathroom, it’s a little outdated & cleaning must be improved (T&B score:4/10).

We stayed in Namsan Hill Hotel for 4 Nights. The hotel is located at a very convenient location from the Hoehyeon station ( Seoul Subway Line).
We went way before our check in time but since the room was available they allowed us to check in. The room was a cosy one with all the basic ameniies you would expect your room to have. The toilet was squeaky clean and so was the bed. They immediately gave us the adapters and an extra room access card upon request. They have unlimited supply of coffee downstairs in the lobby. The breakfast was quite satisying with porridge, pasta, sausages , salads, Juice, milk, cereals, cornflakes , toast and so on.
The hotel staff is extremely helpful , kind , smiling and very very hospitable at any hour of the day / night. They speak good English. There are grocery stores, a 7- Eleven, 24/ 7 restaurants ( Pomato was a good option with decently priced menu and good option of Chicken dishes) , salon ( If you are looking for a haircut or some pampering please visit the salon run by an old lady. She is excellent and uses some traditional styling instruments which are hand made by her husband to style your mane. She is reasonable too. I have attached the picture of the salon and address).
if you are okay with some 4-5 mins walk then this hotel is perfect for you but as mentioned by others there is a slight slope. If you are a backpacker this walk shouldnt bother you at all. The hotel offers the best price as per Seouls standard and for the amenities and facilities it is the best. You can easily access the Myeng-dong , namdaemun market and the N Tower on foot and the Subway line has good access to all the places.

The hotel is small and not so well known that some taxi drivers have some problem finding it, but its location is handy and the staffs are very friendly and helpful.

It costs 3000 won by yellow cab and $3800 won by black cab from Seoul station to namsan Hill Hotel, but they could only book a black taxi to take you from the hotel to Seoul station, and it cost 10,000 won.

It's only a short walk (7 mn) to Namdeamun market and Myeongdong market from Namsan Hill hotel. But only 1 minute down the hill you will find a number of real good Korean family restaurants, which offer tastier, cheaper and more traditional Korean dishes.

Highly commended hotel. We will definitely come back again.

Staff was very helpful, very good service and always professional! Staff was able to speak English and some staff speaks Mandarin too. Location was easy to find, minutes walk to/from metro Hoehyeon station. If it's your first time to Seoul/South Korea, always try to take the metro and it is much easier than bus with potential difficulty to identify your destination. Take the metro from the airport and if you have heavy luggage then call a cab from the Myeongdong station for about 3500won to take you to the hotel. Nearby money exchange and fried chicken are great convenience! Walking distance to Namsan Park and Seoul Tower, Myeongdong shopping district and Shinsegae department store. For the price and location of the hotel, it was a great stay! I stayed in two hotels for my 10 day trip and Namsam Hill was a much better option for similar prices and location.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Decided on this hotel mainly because of hotel location and price. Very value for money, hotel is cosy and clean with sufficient amenities.

Location is excellent, within walking distance from to Namsan park, seoul tower, lotte mall, shinsegae and the city centre. If you're game, you can also walk to gyeongbokgung palace, Jogyesa Buddhist Temple and bukchon hanok village. Lots of grocery shops, family run restaurants and convenient stores around the hotel as well. AND a freight company just opposite the entrance. Very useful for shopping fanatics.

Excellent hotel staffs who were ever ready to help us with translation or finding a particular korean clothing label. One of the managers even went to the extend of helping with us carry and communicate with the freight company so our goods get back home on time. To end our stay on a high note, a complimentary shuttle to Seoul station when we ended our stay.

Will def stay at this hotel the next time I'm back.
