I would really like to thank the staff at Hotel Mido for their kindness, particularly the older gentleman, who is possibly the owner / manager, as he was extremely nice and made it a pleasure to stay there.

The hotel has everything you need and the location is excellent, it is a 60 second walk to Hoehyeon station which is a very well connected subway station which can get you pretty much anywhere. The store is next to many convenience stores and some excellent chicken restaurants.

The room is basic but the bed is very comfortable by Korean standards, I had a great sleep every night.

They catered to all of our questions instantly. The breakfast is not bad, good selection of free breads, sometimes sometimes rice, juices and coffee. Basic but free and the croissants were very good.

There were a couple small issues, such as the room being very hot due to the underfloor heating, which made it a little uncomfortable to be in sometimes. However, the staff remembered our request and kept the heating off for the rest of the trip.

The air conditioner did leak water all over our clothes one day, but the previously mentioned nice man came up to fix it right away and he apologised profusely, even giving me a hug. Really nice guy and he was always smiling!

Thanks Mido.

This hotel is one of the best that we have ever been to! The staff here really go out of their way to help their guests. We were shown tremendous generosity with complimentary drinks, helpful advice and tourist information on the local area.

The room that we had featured a big bed, TV and large on suite with a walk in shower. It was a very quiet room (which we asked for) and was fully air conditioned.

The hotel is in the absolute city centre of Seoul and all the main attractions and markets are within walking distance or a short tube ride. It is very easy to find if you go out of Hoehyeon station exit 1 turn right then immediately bear left it is only 2 minutes walk and right opposite Hotel Rex and unmissible.

We had a great time with no problems at all! Highly recommended!

We stayed 6N, 18-24 November. Once we got our bearings, we walked to Myeongdong easily, about 10 mins.
Had great shopping at Namdaemun market which is about 5 mins away. At Namdaemun market, there are some street food stalls. Try them. They are 1/3 the price of street food at Myeongdong.
The Hoehyeon subway Exit 1 is just a few meters from the hotel. If you ware walking back from Myeongdeong, just look out and walk towards Shinsaege department store cos the hotel is just nearby. Rex Hotel is directly opposite Hotel Mido.
We took a deluxe room at the hotel, as the rate was good. Room size pretty big, we could open two suitcases and still have plenty of space to walk around. Only snag was the bed was pushed against the wall, so the person sleeping next to the wall may have slight inconvenience getting out of bed. But I believe different rooms may have different furniture arrangements. Big clean renovated toilet, good water pressure, good toiletries. Good wifi. Breakfast simple and more than adequate. But dining table sits about 10 persons at a time. More guests eat and move off, and only one morning we had to wait slightly.
Easy to find food near hotel. Right next door is a CU convenience store. Next to the CU store is a family run Korean restaurant. We ate lunch once, and dinner once. Good food and fair price. Much cheaper than eating in the tourisy restaurants in Myeongdong.
Also nearby is another restaurant called Brown Garlic Chicken, with nice fried chicken. We ate dinner, ordering a combination set A with three choices of chicken, plus we ordered a Korean pancake. Very nice.
Almost next to Exit 1 of Heohyeon is Yoger Presso. Try their Merry Chocolate, with chocolate biscuits topping, whipped cream over chocolate yoghurt. Yummy !!!
Across the road at Shinsagae deptment store, they have a great food court. Eat at their Korean stalls, good authentic Korean food at food court prices.
The gentlemen at the Reception counter speak English. We had a very good and happy stay at Hotel Mido.

We stopped there for 3nights.the room was for 3 and was small.in the 3nights we stayed there the room was not cleaned or the bedding changed.on the 2nd day i had to ask for clean towels.the aircon was noisy and didnt go very cold.the bathroom had a oval bathtub with a shower in it.there was no curtain so the sink and toilet got wet.and you could not use the bath tub because there was no plug.the location was the only good thing about it.eaterys and shopping in walking distance.and they booked us a taxi to the airport.do not believe the photos because it is nothing like that.sorry but will not be stopping there again.

Nothing but fond memories for Hotel Mido. The Staff are very welcoming and do their best to make your stay pleasant. They gave us maps of the nearby city on our first day of adventuring, answered any of our questions and were just generally very helpful. Our room was modern, neat, tidy and clean. Toiletries were provided including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Paper cups, chopsticks, hairspray and a comb were also provided.
Rooms have their own kettle, hairdryer and mini fridge. Rooms have free wifi which is very reliable and efficient as is the air con. The shower room is a walk in shower which we did not mind and towels were replaced everyday. I believe rooms are also cleaned everyday provided that you are vacated by around 3pm (don't quote me on the time).
Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am and has a nice variety of foods from cup noodles to mandu to brioche toast and cereal. Yakults and tea are also available aswell as 2-3 fruit options.

The hotel is very near Namdaemun market and Myeongdong shopping area aswell as seoul station. Its actually very central to many main attractions. If you are a walker this will be a great location for you as my partner and I were able to walk to attractions such as Gyeonbokgung Palace (Insa-dong), Hanok village, Namasan Tower, City Hall and more. Korea is so beautiful...

All in all I would highly recommend Hotel Mido and I myself would definitely stay here again. Huge thank you to all the Mido staff who helped us!

A friend recommended highly to stay in Hotel Mido as he had stayed there three times and now I know why. My husband and I had a conference in Seoul. We stayed a week. Each day we received nothing but courtesy and helpfulness from the Mido hotel front desk. They were not all good at spoken English, but they have the smiles and the keen willingness to help. Of the four staff on roster, Mr Jang and Mr Hong spoke better English. Mr Jang would make sure that we knew our way around and when we returned back late without dinner, he would help us order dinner. He seems always there for us! Location of hotel is ideal. It is almost next to the subway entrance and within walking distance to some famous tourist icons, shopping area and market. I will stay there again.

Of our three week trip of Japan and Korea, this hotel stood out far beyond any others in terms of friendliness and service. The man on the front counter was very polite in welcoming us, explaining the facilities and even hurried from behind the counter to help lift my (horribly heavy) suitcase up a couple of steps and then wheel it down to our room. He checked the aircon was set at the right temperature and that our room was in order. One of us suffered a bout of food poisoning upon arrival. We didn't both leave our room until the next evening. Hotel staff noted that we'd left our room and made up the bed and cleaned the room at night time while we were at the movies. We paid a fair bit more for other hotels during our trip but didn't receive service that was this friendly. Free upgrade due to rooms being empty. Clean spacious room. Close to a train station. Really nice spot to stay.

we stayed at hotel Mido for 4 nights, as we had a long stop in Seoul.
We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is placed perfectly in a very nice neighborhood, the subway is near, there are a lot of nice restaurents, a department store, a traditional market, the south gate and much more !
In addition, the hotel really provides you with everything you would need, from shampoo, to toothpaste and hair spray !
They always refill your fridge with water and drinks and the room is perfectly cleaned every day !
My really favorite thing about the hotel was the staff, they were very kind and helpful and even made our stay more enjoyable, they provided us with umbrellas when it rained, offered us a gift when we left, kept on offering us drinks..
The breakfast is included in the offer and is fairly nice, ours was composed of Korean noodles, mini pizzas, cakes and pastries, hot drinks such as coffee & tea and cold drinks such as juice or Actimel.
Internet is available everywhere in the hotel and offers a great bandwidth for browsing !
We highly recommend the Mido hotel and will surely stay here next time we go to Seoul

This hotel was in a great location - near Seoul station, a close metro station, walking distance from a ton of attractions and restaurants. The wifi worked great. While the room was a little small, it is what I expected for the area so I wasn't put off. The front desk/coffee shop staff were always friendly and welcoming. If your uber driver is confused, it seems that most locals know this place as a coffee shop and not a hotel, fyi. I'd stay here again.

I stayed here for a short layover. Although the hotel is tiny with narrow corridors and staircases, the staff is friendly and attentive. To location is good with many eateries and small shops around. Would stay here again if in town.
