Unless you really need to be in the heart of Itaewon, I strongly advice going outside of that area and find a cheaper place. The single double bed room was exactly the width and length of a VW volkswagon car. If you are clausterphobic, its not for you. The bathrooms were in the hallway. The toilet was so small you...

Great place to stay over all. At the top of a huge hill so keep that in mind when lugging your stuff. Staff were amazing though and you can't beat the location. I was greeted by a hilarious Croatian when I arrived and I was given more than enough information about the city and the area that I would have...

The reviews seemed ok so I booked this place because of the amazing price (9 a night?? What a deal!) i stayed in couple of hostels around japan and europe but this one fell far below my expectation. The bathrooms seemed unclean, the building seemed old (stains on the wall.. doors peeling) and the bedding (pillow, mattress, comforter) were looked...

The biggest plus: very friendly staff and good English (which is, sadly, not always the case in Korea). Small but clean rooms, shower & toilet OK. Great kitchen -- even salt, pepper, oil etc. available. When we asked if we could use the PC to print our boarding passes, this was no problem. We could even leave some of our...

The garage was nice but they had to shut it down and make it the reception as it was illegal. The toilets are tiny and you can barely move and it keeps getting clogged, there is no toilet papers, soap shampoo. The 10 bed had their staff and yet 70$ of mine was stolen in cash on a night they...

Sat on a rotten outdoor chair which collapsed. No communication from hostel staff until the morning of departure when the 'key' deposit was withheld by a very rude member of staff. Will not be recommending.

Overall during my stay it was great except 1 thing, other guests did not clean the utensils after used. The person have to wash it on behalf of the irresponsible guest if they want to use it. Who ever stay in this guesthouse, make sure you did not use big trolley bag because you have to carry up all the...

Pros: This guesthouse is generally good for the price you pay. Moreover, the staff speaks good English, which is great because staffs in many hostels around Korea don't really speak English. Cons: Location is quite a hilly walk up from Itaewon station, which is fine if you don't mind that.

This is not really a single hostel: they have some rooms near the reception and some rooms in other buildings. I stayed in a private room outside the main building. The place was very clean and very close to Itaweon and the subway station. I booked a single room but they gave me a room with a double bed, which...

I'm very divided on my experience here. The staff is wonderful, helpful and highly accommodating. The rooms and shared bathrooms are newly renovated, feel modern and the bathrooms are very clean. All the sheets had some stains. The showers absolutely rocked. The main problem I found was the noise. You are located just off the main street (huge perk during...

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
