Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a great place to unwind, with a fantastic location right above the subway, allowing for easy commuting around Seoul from the Hamilton Hotel. However, I was disappointed by the absence of bellhops to assist with luggage during check-in and check-out.

Where do I start. This hotel is in a great location close to the metro, restaurants and literally about 20 night clubs, however it is not a good thing. The noise is so bad the hotel leave ear plugs in the room and you need to wear them otherwise the noise is very loud. The doors on the rooms are so heavy that they continually slam shut throughout the night causing more noise. You can hear people walking in the rooms above and to the sides. There simply is not enough noise insulation. The pool was empty, so no out door pool to use. The gym is very well equipped but used by outside guests so the running machines and bikes are used constantly. This causes over use and 5 running machines and 1 bike was unserviceable. I was running steadily at a constant 13kmph but after about 10 minutes it just cut out causing it to stop immediately. This could have caused a muscle imjury. The gym worker tried to reset the power but it could not be reset, so another machine was unserviceable. I appreciate some hotels around the world do not cater for Foreign guests and therefore Black English Breakfast tea is occassionally not available. However, whenever I have asked a hotel to provide Black/English breakfast tea, they have done so in time for the next breakfast. I requested Black English tea because Green Tea & Earl Grey are not suffice for what I consider a hot breakfas drink to start the day. They kept telling me they had ordered them but they had NOT arrived. There was a shop within 50m of the hotel where they could have purchased them. This hotel does not care about its guests. We had to leave to catch a plane at 07.00. Breakfast does not start until 07.30. I have never known a hotel start breakfast that late on a Monday morning. We requested for maybe a takeaway box with possibly some fruit and. but we was blantantly refused even though staff where in the breakfast area and I am sure an easy request. Most people I met in Seoul, where very helpful and nice. Just not in the Hamilton hotel.

Check in was easy and they gave me 3 free drinks at HIVE When I walked into the room it was pretty clean and uniform The ambient temp of the room was about 29c We turned on the AC and it didn't seem like it was working or blowing minimal warm air. I called front desk and explained the AC wasn't working, a male staff came up and explained how to use the AC system through the control panel or phone. I tried again and waited for about an hour, the temps of the room didn't change. I read the document they gave me during check in and it states that the AC system is Central, which means Front Desk controls all rooms I requested that they turn on the AC Which worked! But I had to do this every day of my stay, most of the time they would say the AC is broken or some excuse about other people saying its too cold Housekeeping are very nice and give new bottles and restock any supplies required or used (Towels, packets, etc) Requested for a pedalstool fan and iron, which they gave promptly The location is extremely convenient just outside of Itaewon subway exit 1 All the pubs and clubs are behind the hotel The hotel lacks soundproofing and the noise reduces your chances of sleeping as the pubs/clubs have the music turned up until the next day 6am The hotel itself was priced very well compared to the others, but the massive let down was soundproofing and the room heating up due to airconditioning turned off

The staff, accommodation and location of the hotel next to Itaewon station are all good, and it is less than a 15 minute walk to Chabad Korea, but there is one massive drawback to this hotel which is the *very* loud street noise, music from speakers on the street and the shops, which penetrates into the rooms and goes on *all night*. For clarity, all night means the noise started at 6.30pm and stopped at 7.30am. So yes, *all night*. I was on the sixth floor at the front of the hotel - the noise was terrible. They provide you with ear plugs at the front desk but they are useless. A notice in the room apologies for the noise! I had booked a second night but the front desk confirmed the noise goes on every day so I checked out before the second night. Basically, unless you are very heavy sleeper and can sleep through rock music, avoid this hotel.

It was good, good location, very clean room and bathroom. Some bar and club noise from outside on Saturday night but it’s a party area, and not too bad, unless you’re a light sleeper. TV had news channels in English, didn’t use it otherwise. The hotel is right above Itaewon metro stop

Hotel in excellent location and physical properties are perfectly adequate, and you can go to the great hot-spring fed Korean bath located in the basement for half price of 5k, but you absolutely, unquestionably MUST have earplugs to counter the incessant and very, very loud music blasting from adjacent nightclubs between 4 pm and 5 am the next day. It does not matter where your room is or how high the floor, you might as well be inside the club itself.

Very clean, respectful stuff (That gurl named Ara at the dest kept on helping me with having taxis or any info I needed), excellent location, very good for the price, Itaweon station is located right infront of the gate, around the hotel there are countless number of resturants that satisfies your needs, american pancakw, french bakery is located like 100m from it and also a wanderful turkish shawrma right on the other side of the street.

I very rarely give reviews and at first glance the Hamilton Hotel wasn't bad. That changed when the temperature in the room rose to 30 degrees Celsius because the air conditioning was not working. The receptionist then told me I was making a mistake in operating the air conditioning but it still didn't work. I went downstairs again and he said to me that the air conditioning systems in the whole hotel had probably failed. However, I quickly realized that was a lie because I asked other guests and they had no problems. I called the receptionist a liar and he offered me a room change. The room had working air conditioning but stank like a smoking room and was out of the question for me. Because all the rooms were supposedly booked up, I got a fan. Thanks a lot for this!

Hamilton Hotel is a comfortable, clean, and user-friendly hotel in the most convenient location. There is a major subway station right outside the hotel entrance. There are bars, restaurants, shops, and markets all around in every direction. There is a laundry service through the hotel, or a coin self-wash laundromat within walking distance. The check-in process is easy, and quick. I would happily stay here again.

From the lobby you walk straight into the Itaewon subway station which connects you to any place you would like to go. Reception is friendly. We got a room on the 9th floor at the rear side. The room has enough space, a queen and a single bed, a desk, separate chair, fridge and is modern and clean. Curtains are extremely dark. The bathroom is modern and clean. Korean style toilet. Enough space to leave a suitcase. Wifi is very good. Of course Itaewon is a busy noisy nightlife area and you can hear the noise until very late at night or early morning, although it is at background level. But don’t expect complete quiet until very late. But I don’t blame the hotel for this, it is a choice you make yourself.
