This is a great looking hotel: open, magnificent lobby with excellent city views; roomy, well-appointed rooms and suites with big bathrooms and views of the city from your room. Great selection of restaurants. Even a lively lobby lounge with live music every evening. Central location, and not excessively pricey. But, can not recommend this hotel based on our experience. Grand Hyatt in Seoul has been one of the best hotel I have ever been stayed during my 2m miles business trips. Atmosphere is so comforting together with standard Grand Hyatt quality I got used to have. Internal design is both sophisticate and simplistic at the same time. All Team members are showing again standard respect of Korean people I... More

Many positives for this hotel, but quite a walk to public transportation, hence I gave it very good instead of excellent. We stayed the first week of October 2016 for two nights. The hotel is quite palatial with an expansive lobby looking out over the grounds and the city. Check-in was smooth with very polite, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who... More

I had to call in all the duty managers to review this b/c it was crazy... Mind you I travel and stay at hotels every other month oversees for weeks at... More

I've stayed at this Hotel some 20 times this year and have only experienced issues with the check in team. The F&B team in the Foyer Lounge and at the restaurants are all exceptional, but the check in team need a lot to be desired ! After arriving close to midnight with 2 of my staff members who are Korean... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
