Great 2 bedroom apartment in terrific location with excellent helpful English speaking front desk staff who have helped us with all our tourist issues. Best service I have ever received. Very quiet in a busy area. Close to 3 different subway lines We love this hotel.

We already stayed 3 times there back when it belonged to the Fraser group Service has improved, staff is a lot friendlier and the rooms have been updated. Make sure to get a room in one of the upper levels with a view to Seoul Tower as lower ground suites tend to be noisy because of the road.

Reallly targeting longer term stayers I think, but it was good for us as well. We had 2 apts, 2BR each, for around $160/night. We were upgraded and the second bedroom had a window. Lots of closet space and fully equipped kitchen. Overall the units are quite big, and it seems ours had been recently renovated. Checkin was a bit...

The Orakai is comfortable and in a great location! Everything was clean. The decor is simple but pleasant. The washer-dryer is great. The staff is helpful. The only false note is that they charge for Internet. I think people really expect free internet these days.

The Orakai Insadong Suites do their job. Its a clean, functional hotel for short and long stays. Ive stayed here a couple of times under its various names. I know someone who has been living here (in the building) for months on a work contract and it works for him. Our room is a modern and well appointed one bedroom...

Overnight stay in this wonderful hotel, great service from staff, food in the dining-room was plentiful and excellent quality. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seoul. Good location to the airport, with safe environment outside to explore.

It was a last minute trip and my first overseas adventure with my kids! I am very thankful that I managed to secure a 2-br apartment at Orakai Invading Suites (formerly known as Fraser Suites Insadong) on my 3rd day in Seoul after my horrible experience with one of the Airbnb apartments near Seoul Station. It was still under Fraser's...

This serviced apartment was called Fraser suite Insadong. It's near to main tourist spots like Gwanghwamun square, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong and the famous Insadong art alley is only few meters away. We stayed in their 1 bedroom apartment with our 1 yo baby. Spacious room with great amenities and full equipped kitchen, baby cot was provided. Highly recommended for those...

Vin and Mrs Merlot in Seoul for first time and this place (formerly Fraser Suites) was recommended to us and we are grateful. 2 bedroom apartment, nicely furnished, spotlessly clean and briallintly located for first time visitors. Walking distance to shops, restaurants palace, heaps of places. Highly recommended especially for extended stays. We were here for 12 days. Service polite...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
