We went to Seoul for 3 weeks. We decides to stay in this hotel for the whole time. First of! This is not a five star hotel. Its as it says, 3-3.5 stars but if your looking for a five star hotel, this isnt it. We were worried about wifi and the aircondition before we went here! Many people wrote...

7 Street hotel is a modern hotel with decent rooms and great beds. The bathroom is rather small, but well equiped and sufficient. You can make coffee and tea, therse is a hairdryer present and a pretty decend size vault. The staff is extremly friendly and service minded. Every day complimentary water bottles. There is a coffee shop right next...

This place could be perfect. WiFi does exist in some places like the reception. Near the beutiful Cheongichon river. Soo beutiful not to far away from city hall or Dongdaemun. Fascinating area with lots if small shops for house building and electricity. Hungry ? Turn right from hotel. Lots of them.

We stayed four nights at Seven Street Seoul Hotel. The staff were friendly and polite and spoke English. The room was clean and quite spacious and the hotel was very well located. A walking distance to two metro stations and shopping centres. There's a 7-11 in the same building and another one a couple of blocks away. The only downsides...

On our day of check in we are greeted by staff members. Given our key card for our rooms. Though the front desk speaks little English we manage to communicate with them. The hotel has no air-conditioning system. I guess it is not activate at that time because the weather in Seoul is quite cold. We just have to open...

I have stayed in this hotel for three nights while I was touring Seoul by myself. I find it very comfortable and secure for a solo traveler such as myself. The bed was very soft and comfortable. There has been some issues with my swipe card on my first night as it wouldn't let me in and I ended up...

My husband and I spent 5 nights at this hotel beginning of November.... very bad experience overall. When we arrive at the hotel, we were met with the worst front office service we've ever experience in our lives. I assumed the man that served us was the supervisor (he wore dark suit while others were wearing light brown/beige suits); there...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
