Marriot Bonvoy Platinum members are advised to find another hotel for your expected benefits as you won't get them here. The hotel will not upgrade a Deluxe booking even though there is availability for higher tier rooms. The hotel has two lounges, one for everyone which serves tea and coffee. Platinum members are denied access to the Premier Lounge (which is reserved for Tritanium and Ambassador level status or an entry fee of 33,000 won) which serves breakfast, wine, spirits, and happy hour. So no breakfast for Platinum members either. Josun Palace was a much better hotel in comparison, with the expected amenities afforded to Platinum members.

Located in the pricey area of Seoul Gangnam, this is a great location to restaurants and shopping, as well as the conference center. The rooftop restaurant and bar is a great place to spend time in the evening. Cocktails are delicious and services prompt. The rooms are fully equipped, even with a steam iron for your clothes. The reception desk is extremely friendly and professional. Would definitely enjoy staying here again if I wanted to be in the Gangnam area .right in front of the hotel to the right is a great local restaurant that serves delicious authentic Korean food. The breakfast buffet is absolutely fantastic and is everything you could ever want.

Upgrades for ambassador elite doesn’t go far here. You’re only upgraded to a premier double room which is quite small and they won’t upgrade to anything higher even if there is inventory, which according to the front desk is left empty if not booked. Kind of a weird booking system if you ask me as it would be much better for the hotel to have more availability lower level rooms that people are likely to afford. So, if you are an ambassador hoping for a suite upgrade, don’t come here.

The staff shall be replaced with robots with AI.
At least robots will remember what he just said.
The check-in process was hectic.
The staff seemed to keep forgetting what I said.
The "happy hour" is unhappy with cold food and less-than-mediocre wines.
(The waitress at the lounge did not know how to screw open the wine)
Unbelievable this property can carry a Marriott name on its sign.

Apparently customer experience is not a priority for this hotel. You can barely sense any hospitality from the staff.

They don't have a concereige/doorman, calling taxi was a mess, they will only do it at FO but no one is paying attention to the taxi passing by in the front.

Their breakfast buffer's last order is 10:00. At 10:17 a staff asked me to wrap up "in 3 or 4 minutes". This has never occurred to me across the globe, not even at non-branded hotels.

Apparently one of their FO does not care about guest experience, she is just doing the basics with a poker face and couldn't bother to care about customers' particular situations.

The bed was not comfortable. Room was very small, the door would hit my suitcase and couldn't be fully open.

I was suprised the price was higher than RYSE Autograph and JW Gangnam. It's hard to believe this is a Marriot chain even for non-members (I am a Titanium, not that it matters here though). Marriott is seletive in their review survey, I was not able to leave review on their hotel website.

Will avoid this hotel for sure.

I travel to Seoul often for business and this AC Hotel used to be one of my top picks. I've had pleasant experiences before but this stay was quite unfortunate. They gave me a room with a TV that cannot be turned off. I don't know if it's because I've been downgraded from Marriott Gold to Silver recently.

Every time I turn the TV off it lights back up again. Imagine finding this out after a long day out and you're trying to get some sleep... I didn't ask for a new room because it was really late at night and I just wanted to sleep. And I was out for business the next day so didn't need the hassle of a room-switch. I just unplugged the TV for my entire stay.

Definitely expected more from this AC Hotel because I used the love it. The front desk staff also doesn't feel as cordial and helpful as before. There are still good sides, such as the location, and the housekeeping staff is really good and keeps this hotel in good condition. But after this incident I think I'll stay away from AC Hotel for a while.

Staff were all very friendly and while room was small, it's fully functional and expected given it's in Gangnam. Airport limo bus stop right outside at Yeoksam station so it was a easy 1+ hour transfer both ways.

The gimbap across the street is really not too bad and there's lots of dining options nearby.

The hotel is right next to Yeoksam station so its location is great.
Staff friendly but could communicate better. On check in, I was told to wait in AC Lounge without being told how long to wait. Turned out my room was ready but needed final inspection but that was not conveyed initially.
Room was small.
Buffet breakfast was decent.
Gym was quite complete.

On booking and website it does not say it does not upgrade Platinum and above to available suites.
Access to premier lounge only for paid customers or Titanium/Ambassador.
Such deviation from Marriott policies should be stated upfront.
If I knew I would not have booked it.

I showed up at the hotel with my room already booked on my company credits card back at the office. That's a credit card I don't physically carry because it belongs to the company. When I arrived, they asked for my credit card. Problem is that the hotel expects you to pay the whole bill in cash because their Apple pay machines are broken. I'm never booking here again for business.

We stayed for a short-trip to Seoul and it was very convenient to explore Gangnam area. Especially, it was very closed to the metro, so it made easier to get everywhere we wanted to. The staff were so kind and helpful with smiley faces. The room was bit small but okay for 2 adults and the view from the window was amazing. We will definitely stay at Premier Double with Skyline view if we have a chance! Overall, it was a pleasant stay at AC Hotel Seoul Gangnam.
