Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences comes highly recommended for its luxurious amenities, including a variety of dining options and the exclusive Club Millésime, although some guests feel breakfast could be more accessible. Many travelers enjoy the spacious, spotless rooms with picturesque views, though a few have mentioned a noise issue.
While the hotel's elegant atmosphere and prime location near shopping and sightseeing spots are a draw, its distance from the city center and the cost have received mixed reviews. The staff's professionalism and personalized service, however, consistently earn rave reviews.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed in many holidays in Korea including Hilton, Marriott, Novotel and Shilla.
To Be honest, I think Sofitel Seoul is the best so far!
What I want to mention is their service. Quality hotel service is very important, and this hotel provides very high quality service, they solved issues very quickly and with a very good solution, and I can feel they treat every single customer as a very important guest which not every 5 star hotel can do, but they did it. Every staff member treats all guests very nicely. The whole day I was staying in the hotel, I found that all the staff took all the guests very nicely, and they even bowed to the guest when the guest took the elevator back to the room. I can see all the staff tried to do their best to serve all the guests as VIP as possible. Which I really respect. Meanwhile I can also see that all the staff are very well trained. Moreover, as I stayed in many hotels in Korea, I think the Sofitel so far has the best English speaking staff among the hotels in Korea.
The rooms look very modern French classic, bathroom design very luxurious and the shower brands they use Diptyque.
As Sofitel is a French brand, their food was so nice! I had a meal at the 32th Floor membership lounge AND 4th Floor morning breakfast restaurant. It was my first time that an experienced membership lounge came with a course menu, and the breakfast was so nice, every type of the food was of very high quality, and I have the BEST croissant ever in my life!
As the hotel just opened since two weeks, there were some minor issues like my room did not have a bath tower and lack of iPhone charger cable, but the staff solved the problem very quickly and with the best solution for me.
I highly recommend this hotel for stay in Seoul especially for those who love luxury and modern traveller, with high English skills, and for those who don't want to stay in a very old local Korean style hotel just like (Shilla) as an example.
Surely I will go back to this hotel in some day!~

Enjoyed our 5-day stay in the Magnifique Family Room of the hotel, which is able to accommodate all 4 of us. The hotel is everything that we were looking for, good location, walking distance to the metro, and clean. To help orientate, the hotel is located south of the Han river and on the eastern part of Seoul. Its quite near to Gangnam and is ideal if you are visiting the Lotte theme park. The Lotte Department Store is just next to the hotel, so you are spoiled for choices in terms of restaurants and services. Being a new hotel, all the facilities are unsurprisingly in mint condition. The room is also high tech, with the lighting, TV and curtains etc controllable via a central hub. Service wise, the staff was friendly and spoke good English, check in was hassle free. Room service was also very prompt (the towel that we asked for came in a matter of seconds after our request!). If we want to nitpick, attention to details could be better. In our case, three bath towels were only provided in the room even though they knew four guests were registered. And we had to request for the additional towel over repeated days, though they came quickly :) All in all, a wonderful stay for our family!

We stayed in for my husband’s birthday. Checked in the lounge flr. On the 32nd. The staffs were very kind to my daughter and asked us what drinks we’d like to have while we are waiting for process of checking in. We booked one night for Suite and the other night for a common room but they also offered decent charges to upgrade to the suite as well.
Miss. Hanji also remembered that we were celebrating the birthday - she wrote “Happy Birthday” on Champagne glasses for the happy hour lounge time when we came in later. She was there for us from the beginning and looked after us until we checked out.
Another special thanks to Miss Lina who also tried to make our stay fun.
The staffs kept trying to check if everything was fine with us.
There was one mistake they made on the check in time, about the second day’s happy lounge hours. We made plans to go in at the very end briefly because one of us had to be with our young daughter while the other one was going. But they forgot to inform us that the second day of our stay had the different time slot of running it. Even if I was going to stay for only about 30 minutes for myself and then wanted my husband to enjoy his own time for his birthday afterwards, we had no time left to do anything much at all. I was very upset with this basic mistake that the plan we made became worthless but understandable. They were offering the upgrade charges for the second night , so it was forgotten to inform us with excited atmosphere for that moment.
We will definitely stay here often since this hotel is beautiful, clean and the staffs are kind. Its breakfast always maintains good quality and its location for sightseeing, entertaining and shopping is also one of the too notch places.
I highly recommend to visit here and family will return every month for the staycation. Great value for the platinum members and luxurious at th .

Stayed in the Magnifique room with my family (2A+2C) for 3 nights.
Beautifully presented, oversized corner room complete with automatic sheer and blackout curtains. Very large shower + bathtub with Diptyque products (they're really natural and gentle compared to chemical filled alternatives). Bathtub includes bath salts and a phone/tablet holder for watching in the bath. Only downside is the minibar fridge full of overpriced rubbish. Who even consumes these? I'd rather an empty fridge to put what I actually want to drink. The couch is oddly placed facing a wall with the minibar fridge.
Location-wise, the hotel sits next to the Lotte mall which has an abundance of food and shopping (a lot of luxury brands), Lotte World Tower, Lotte Aquarium and Lotte World Themepark; so lots to do with the family. The mall is connected to Subway lines 2 (Gangnam, Dongdaemun and City Hall) and 8 (doesn't really go anywhere useful).
You get free parking for one vehicle. There's a little toddler playground on L4 which is great for 1-3 year olds. Did not get a chance to try the pool or gym, or the breakfast buffet (~$60; 20% off with Accor Plus).
Lastly, it can sometimes be tedious getting to your room from the street as it involves two sets of elevators. The lobby is on L6, with commercial/restaurants on L2-5 which creates a lot of public traffic in the lifts to the lobby. From there, you can access your rooms.

We booked a Magnifique family twin room for 5 nights. This comes with a single bed and a king bed. As usual in a Sofitel the beddings are of the best quality, so we slept very well. The room has everything needed for a confortable stay. They replenish every day with water, tea selection and Nescafe style coffee capsules.
You really feel in a 5 stars hotel, but with something very modern and trendy, compared with other 5 stars hotels in Seoul. It’s at the same time elegant, softly luxurious and very comfy.
The hotel staff is just perfect. They are fully dedicated to their customers needs and they speak very well English, (again) compared to other hotels. You can chat with them about your travel in Korea, they have really natural and friendly manners.
The swimming pool is beautiful, with a direct view on the Sky Tower. We were lucky enough to get the space several times just for us. There is also a small spa area, where you can enjoy hot bath and feet bath. During week days, there is no need to book a schedule in advance, but it’s compulsory from Friday to Sunday. The booking is done via a QR code.
We ordered several times room service, so we tried different things, western and Korean. It was delicious, but be aware that the quantity served is enormous from a European standard. We could never finish our plates.
The location of the hotel is not maybe the best for first timers in Seoul, as it’s pretty far away from the « actions » areas, like Myeondong, Bukchon, … But for us it was just perfect, as after several stays in Seoul, we eventually prefer to stay in a more modern area, less crowed, but next to major new attractions and shopping malls. Anyway, there is a subway station close to the hotel, from where you can easily connect to any places.
Avoid the taxi (use instead Naver app to navigate), even if it’s very cheap, as the traffic has become totally crazy in Seoul. It took us an hour from Seoul train station to reach the hotel in the middle of the afternoon, while it took us the same amount of time very early in the morning (Saturday) to reach Incheon airport from the Hotel. Our taxi driver was really nice. He respected the fare communicated by the hotel and went to pick up a trolley for our heavy luggages (too much shopping!)
We really loved this hotel and next time we will stay there for sure.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences. It is a great pleasure to hear about your remarkable stay and we appreciate your recognition towards our dedicated team and our hotel facilities. As you mentioned, our swimming pool is offering an incredible panoramic view of Seokchon Lake and downtown Seoul. We appreciate as well your comments in regards to our room service menu and for noticing indeed how generously served some of the dishes are. Lastly, it is true we are very close to public transports, several bus stops and also next to two metro lines including the circular ones which is the best to discover the city. From the moment we arrived at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul we sensed the unique warm hospitality of the hotel. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the hotel room manager Julien who urged us to communicate with him anytime we need something throughout our stay. As a mother travelling alone with my child we did have special requirements which were all instantly attended, thus making our stay so much more comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself was perfect, all spaces carefully designed, our spacious room exactly as described on the website and in the photos we had seen before booking, it was always fresh and spotless clean. All the staff were always very helpful and attentive, the restaurants we visited were flexible enough to cater our special food preferences, the fitness room and swimming pool amazing beyond expectations. The breakfast buffet remarkable, both in terms of quality and variety of choice. We really loved the location too, Seokchon lake is picture perfect during spring and the views from the hotel breathtaking.
Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back!
Thank you Sofitel Ambassador Seoul for the unforgettable stay!

What a great stay we had over 4 nights at the hotel . The hotel is a new hotel having just opened in October 2021. The facilities and rooms are top notch . But what stands this property out from others is the software - the staff who are always making you feel welcomed.
The staff will take time to communicate with you and make you feel welcome during the entire stay . They not only converse with you but also remember what you discussed the day before and do a follow on conversation - this results in the creation of an atmosphere that is homely and welcoming .
This applies throughout the hotel despite what frequent stay status member you are.
We are platinum level card holders and have access to the club room on the 32nd Level - the evening cocktail is almost a meal by itself and the cocktail and drinks provide were good and of sufficient potency . The service at all levels are all top notch that we intend to stay at Sofitel hotels from now on . This was our first stay at a Sofitel hotel and unfortunately the other Sofitel hotels will need to measure up with this hotel .

I came here because it was my boyfriend's birthday, and I think I was able to spend my birthday happily after meeting the friendly jisoo from check-in. I also had brunch on the 32nd floor using the package, and it was good because the portions were large and the taste was good. The condition of the interior of the accommodation was also very good and I could feel the scent of Diptyque. I was able to get enough sleep:> I had a lot of luggage when checking out, so I used the luggage storage service, and sunny? was kind enough to respond when I picked up my luggage from the first floor, so I had a happy 2 days and 1 night until the end. This is my second visit, and I want to come again next time to see the cherry blossoms.

+1
I went on a staycation with friends, and I wondered if this was how I would be treated. They changed my room to a place with a better view, and the staff were all so friendly and paid attention to even the smallest details, so I don't think I'll be able to go to any other hotel when I go on a staycation in Seoul. There was also an air purifier, so my friend who brought her baby also loved it. The bathtub was spacious and nice, so I used it well. There were three people who each had completely different tastes, but we enjoyed the breakfast to the fullest haha.
The downside is that after checking out, I went for a walk and went to another restaurant, and the staff felt unfriendly ^^;;;
The friendliness of the Sofitel staff is truly the best.

It's a place with everything from bling-bling and pretty bathrooms, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. The Prestige Suite room has a separate, spacious dressing room, so I was impressed with how luggage can be organized discreetly, and there is a dining table for 4 people, making it convenient to eat food ordered through room service. The view of Seokchon Lake from the room is also very comfortable and pretty. The cocktail hour at Club Millésime has been renewed and improved with the addition of seafood dishes that go well with Baron d'Or Chilled champagne. I am so satisfied every time I come.

Casual pants and smart casual are both acceptable.
Agree with Heyeiyan. I had a similar situation, sharing a room whilst on a tour. Opaque windows in the shower/bath/bidet-toilet.
You need to exit the hotel, turn right towards the road ()25m), turn right walk beside road for 30m (cross the carpark entry & exit), walk about 100m to enter the Lotte World shopping complex through it doors or thro Uniqlo. Once inside one can acess the subway and bus interchange at the basement shops and eateries level. Happy travels.
