Beautiful modern and luxurious hotel in Gangnam. I stayed for 7 nights and the staff made me feel at home. I would definitely stay again when I come back to Seoul.

Most outstanding was the Concierge team, particularly Ms. Sally Ji, who made my stay at Josun Palace and visit in Seoul extra special.

I had the Grand Masters room and I'm a Platinum member so I had access to the daily breakfast buffet (huge variety of offerings), afternoon coffee/tea/cookie and evening wine service.

Room was spacious and had great views of Seoul. All the amenities I needed were there and housekeeping was always quick to respond. Pool, gym and sauna looked really nice but I chose not to use it out of covid precaution.

The hotel has been opened for about a year and is located inside the Centerfield East & West Centers where there's an Emart convenience store, pharmacy, restaurants and several coffee shops like Koffee Sniffers & Starbucks Reserve. The neighborhood also has excellent local food like soondae soup, beef sullungtang, noodles, sushi and KBBQ.

Easy access to taxi, buses and subway.

My friends and I decided to splurge on a few nights at Josun Palace and it was worth every cent. The hotel is stunning - from the design to the interiors, and the service. Every staff member was very considerate and polite, and almost all of them spoke fluent English. The concierge was extremely helpful in helping us book taxis, and the buffet breakfast was exceptional! it's quite pricey (from memory 77,000 KRW) however we had a members deal so it was included. We felt at ease travelling during Covid due to the cleanliness and mask-wearing rules around the hotel. We made some great memories during our stay and I would highly recommend!

As far as I know this is the most expensive/luxurious Marriott property in Korea. Unfortunately that didn’t mean that the hotel was best.

Pros:
1. Received complimentary Titanium upgrade to a really great looking room even on a reward stay.

2. Property is pretty new and shiny, good amenities, although some were under construction.

Cons:
1. Received no reception at the ground level reception area, which meant no one told us that the lobby is on the 25th floor by the name of “Grand Reception”. We had to back track and flag down a staff to figure this out.

2. An employee decided to cut in line and rush into the elevator before us. Well a group of us since she cut off everyone.

3. Requested house keeping around 10 AM on the way out. House keeping wasn’t done until after 3 PM, preventing us jet lagged couple to get some rest right away. Not sure where to go, so went to “Grand reception” so that we can sit somewhere.

4. One staff at the reception told us that she checked the status for the room and that it will tike about 40 minutes to finish house keeping. She checked in with us at 20 minute mark and told us that she will be back in another 20 min to check on the house keeping status again.

No one came to us after over 30 minutes so we talked to someone else to see if the room was ready. Different staff tried to dismiss us saying that it’s been only 20 minutes since we requested house keeping when it takes around 40 min. We explained that we request it in the morning. She told us that since house keeping is done in order we must have requested it too late. Overall very odd interaction from a high end hotel.

5. There is no blackout curtain, just a general one which lets light in from all edges.

All in all very disappointing experience for a luxury collection property. We won’t be returning since there are plenty of Marriott properties in Korea which offer better value and service.

The hotel entrance was well-designed, and staff immediately came to help with baggage at the front door. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom consisted of a nice bathtub, a roomy shower, and a powerful air-conditioner. The luxury brand Byredo is used for shampoo, shower gel, and hair conditioner. The bed is comfortable and cozy; a speaker on the bedside table is a bonus.

The gym was quite mind-blowing and had plenty of equipments and space. The swimming pool was heated and large. The spa was delightful and offered relaxing massages.

The hotel was also quite convenient as it is located in a mall, and going for supper at a food stall in the mall was quite easy. Would recommend to stay at this hotel.

As a frequent traveler to Seoul both for business and pleasure, I had sorely missed visiting since C19. Typically, I stay at JW Marriott or Westin, but with Josun Palace’s new opening 3 months ago, I decided to give it a try. It was a first international trip with my fiancée so we wanted it to be special. We were so impressed with every single detail, from the elegant yet modern decor to white glove caring service. Edwin (Concierge) took such good care of us, arranging special request flowers and customized balloons for my fiancée, and even proactively offered suggestions for samgyetang after I off-handly mentioned it during check-in. Jooksik (Constans) welcomed us for breakfast every morning and remembered how I take my coffee only after 2nd day! Colin (Sales) even remembered my birthday and sent handwritten card with a special memorable gift. All in all, Josun Palace truly is relaxation elevated and we will be sure to stay here ALWAYS whenever we are back in Seoul.

Style.
Art deco vibes and glamour. Designed by Humbert & Poyet.

Rooms.
Waited ten minutes to checkin but appreciated the 4 pm checkout. Stayed in entry level state room 3210 — North facing room. The 44m of space here felt smaller vs Four Season’s entry level room, maybe because the view was partially blocked by Centerfield next door, the bed faced a tall cabinet that hid the mini bar and the desk, gadgets i.e. the chunky cube air purifiers took up precious space. Otherwise, the room was supremely comfortable.

Service
I left for dinner at 615 pm, turned off do not disturb sign but there was no turndown service when I returned 3 hours later.

@ the hotel.
Art and location.
You’ll see Daniel Arsham’s blue calcite eroded Moses as soon as you enter the hotel. Location is excellent. I prefer Four Seasons Seoul’s room & service but stayed at Josun as at 4S, felt like every ride to any restaurant I like would be 40 minutes away by cab.

Food & drinks.
Was at Eatanic Garden 2 months ago and it was absolutely fantastic, would return to Josun to stay just because of Eatanic.

Prices.

Dear Anilegna, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we're delighted to hear you enjoyed the art deco vibes and glamour of our hotel designed by the renowned Humbert & Poyet. Regarding the minor issues you encountered, we regret the delay during check-in and the missed turndown service. We strive to provide seamless and attentive service, and your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement. It's wonderful that you could appreciate the prime location and the artistic touches like Daniel Arsham's striking installation. We're thrilled that your exceptional dining experience at Eatanic Garden was a highlight, as we take pride in offering authentic culinary journeys that immerse guests in the local flavors. Thank you again for your valuable insights. We look forward to welcoming you back and creating an even more memorable stay tailored to your preferences. The glam and the glitz of the Josun Palace does not make up for their poor service and communication. Every hotel has policies for different tiered guests, however Josun Palace needs to do a better job of executing theirs so as not to embarrass guests. I was entertaining friends and was turned away from the 1914 Lounge with the explanation that the empty side was reserved for special guests (the other half was full). They should have communicated this at check in. Our reservation was under my husband's name, who is a Titanium Elite member but I arrived first. Within a 2 hour period I was harrassed with 3 phone calls and a letter to the room telling me that my husband needed to show himself at the reception. Although we have arrived at different times before, this has never happened at any other hotel. There were so many disappointing things about our stay. This is the first negative review I've ever written because it was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I've returned to Seoul many times afterwards and have chosen to stay at the Grand Hyatt, the Conrad Hotel, JW Marriott, Andaz Hyatt... and all have been truly wonderful experiences. I wrote an email addressing some of my concerns about their service, communication and the poor layout for the areas reserved for their 'special' guests (usually these areas are in a separate, discrete area), but received no response.

I recently stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The service was excellent! I was in suite 3101. The room attendant who helped me, Junhyung Kim, was especially kind and attentive. All of the staff from reception to house keeping made my birthday in a foreign country very special. I can't wait to come back! - C

I was already enjoying the hotel's excellent service before I arrived as I e-mailed their concierge to make various restaurant bookings. Their concierge reply really promptly and helped me all of my requests.

Then when I arrived at the hotel, I finally got to meet Sophia in person who has been helping me through e-mails all along. She was very helpful. In fact the hotel would go the extra mile to make sure that their guests are in good hands. I and my friends booked a IM taxi through the hotel to pick us up from one bar where we were having Happy Hour to the restaurant where we were going to have dinner. After we got on the taxi and was on our way, the concierge actually called the taxi driver to make sure that he picked us up and that we were going to the right restaurant. Now, that is hospitality on another level!

I would also like to thank the hotel limousine driver who took us to the airport this noon. As Seoul has been raining none stop, one of the highways going to the airport was closed causing very bad traffic jam. We were quite worried that we would miss our flight but our driver did his very best to take us to the airport and fortunately, I got there in time.

I will definitely visit Seoul again and stay in Josun Palace. I would also like to see their cute mascot Ryan the Lion!

There are 2 queens, so OK for 4 adults. But please be informed that the official occupancy is 3, so you would better check with the hotel in advance.
