We were stayed Doo Guest House 4 nights. Good feasibilities: kitchen, washing machine, drying machine, 2 share toilets available. The floor heating was warm enough at night. Great location and near by metro station Anguk, Exit 3. Their staff (Jae Hwa) is a friendly, proactive, and well communicating with us. Donny is a nice owner, he quickly replied our question...

We decided to take the path less travelled and stay in a traditional hanok, to experience what life was like in ancient Korea. Donny and his friend are quite accommodating, although we wish we could have chatted with them more. Do not be surprised if the rooms are smaller than what you expected; this is a hanok after all. There...

As always, the services and staffs were very excellent. it takes abiut 7 min. from the station. It is very easy to visit traditional attractions and shopping area, because they were walkable or very accessible through public transportation. もう一度訪問しました。他の地域を行くことができるやすいところ、駅から7分くらいかかりました。

We arrived at Doo after an exhausting day at Nami. Upon reaching the Bukchon area, we took a wrong turn and were officially lost in dusky cool Seoul. Fortunately, a gentleman helped us call the guest house and Tony came to the rescue. He helped us with our bags and lead us to our home for the night, which was...

We stay in the semi double room, 6 nights with discount is 55000won per night. It has only public toilets and we have to get into the open area to go for a bath or just to wash our hands. So, it's very cold and inconvenient. However, the rooms are heated. The rooms are very small. It has a small...

I just want to share my experience during my stay at Doo guest house in Seoul, South Korea. First of all, I love the old traditional and an antique style house called Han-Ok. It is so beautiful so that I can enjoy the view and I can enjoy the tea in the front yard and met people in there. Especially...

Such a pity that we stayed for only 2 nights! the room with the tatami is simply amazing, the kitchen is basic but we can get our simple breakfast of bread + coffee there! (once finish, i called them for a new loaf and they sent over immediately!!) We reside in another block of Doo Guesthouse 3 and all I...

I chose this style of accomodation because I wanted to experience the Korean traditional life style. We stayed for 3 nights on family room with private bathroom. They only provided us with small towel for shower but they let us had more as needed. The 2nd day I requested more mattress for our room and they granted that. We got...

it is a walk-able distance to the doo guesthouse. For me, i called the doo guesthouse for help, because i was having a problem with my luggage. I assure that they will do the best they can do. Secondly, the room was quiet cleaner than i expected. Also, it is a reasonable price, compared with the facilities and other service....

Staying in Samcheongdong / Bukchon

Neighbourhood Profile
Samcheongdong / Bukchon
This historic neighbourhood was traditionally home to Seoul’s middle and upper-classes. Now it’s most famed for its clusters of beautiful, traditional Korean homes (called hanok), many of which are found in Bukchon. Many of these homes have now been converted into restaurants, cafes, shops, and even guesthouses, and their unique architecture offers a look at Korea’s traditional beauty. Samcheongdong’s main and side streets attract locals and tourists alike for their quaint and charming scenery, while the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) serves as the residence for South Korea’s president. Art fans will love exploring the many independent and private art galleries in the area.
