Nox Hotel is a small-ish hotel that has an excellent location (a couple of minutes walk to Yeoksam station, and a ten minute walk to Gangnam station). My mum and I stayed at Nox for five nights, and found all staff to be very helpful and friendly - we arrived early in the morning and the hotel readily accomodated an early check-in. The hotel provides free access to their printer, which came in handy when I had to do some work. The free breakfasts were simple but filling (i.e. boiled eggs, cornflakes, bananas, yoghurt, toast, sushi), and the hotel provides 24 hour access to their free coffee vending machine and toast which was great. The room, whilst compact, had everything we needed (including a safe and desktop computer) and the bathroom facilties were excellent (i.e. a rain shower, spa, heated toilet seat, plus daily replenished bathroom amenities). We visit Seoul fairly regularly, and would definitely go back to stay at Nox again, so thank you for the enjoyable stay.

The Nox "Boutique" Hotel is a strange one.

First of all, like all Seoul hotels, it is really hard to find. By taxi, the easiest way is to ask for the Renaissance Hotel. By Metro, come out of exit 7 of Yeoksam station and continue straight up over the hill, until you come to a big bronze-ish statue of a pile of books. Hand a last here and then take the second right after the barbecue joint. It's about 75m ahead.

But the hotel itself. The rooms are very modern, with a PC and large screen TV which can screen content from the PC as well as a bazillion TV stations. Large bed with interesting (inflatable?) pillows, super large bathroom with a jacuzzi as a well as a shoer, and all manner of sanitary products. Yes, these have been there a while, and were probably used by previous guests, but that didn't bother me. There were bottles and bottles of shampoo and conditioner and body soap, the list goes on. Like all Seoul hotels I've stayed in, the floor of the room is tiled, and the window is small, and you'll be lucky to have a view of anything other than a wall. All this points to it's history as a love hotel. My colleague swears that they are still doing rooms by the hour, and I did meet some guys who were staying there to crash after a night in the town, rather than going home to the suburbs. But everyone keeps to themselves, which means you don't (I didn't) get disturbed.

There is nowhere in the room to put your luggage, which want I was tripping over my bag every time I moved around the room. But they do provide a small selection of drinks in the fridge which I took full advantage of. As far as breakfast goes, it is better to consider it not provided, methinks. I also wouldn't say that I found the staff friendly.

Overall, it's pretty expensive for what you get. You're paying for a location near Gangnam, and the rest is adequate, as long as you don't scratch the surface too much.

Good location only 7 mins walking from nearest subway, room a little small but it's still ok 'coz everything comfort, the room have amazing speaker (like have room theater), the bathroom large & clean, also have complete amenities. The staff is very helpful, he accompanied us and helped carry our goods when we return to the airport by bus. Their lobby also provided an automatic beverage machine (hot chocolate, nespresso, cafe latte, tea etc) so we can drink as much as we want & all is free. My husband & I really enjoy staying here!

During our trip to Seoul, we have had an airbnb reservation that was not the most comfortable place and apparently hard to find even for Korean taxi drivers. So, we decided to find a replacement lodging. Luckily we found Nox hotel. The hotel is pretty modern and I would consider it as a value hotel. We (a family of four adults) stayed in their biggest room and was pretty comfortable.
Dustin, a customer service rep, who speaks really good English helped us tremendously (None of not speak Korean). He actually came to the old place, helped us lifting our suitcases to the main road (taxis were not willing to drive through the tiny roads by the old place), talked to the taxi drivers (we have to get 3 taxis since we have 8 suitcases) to get back to Nox hotel. He also helped us find a good restaurant nearby, went with us to the restaurant (which there are many with several being 24 hour restaurants) and talked to them regarding our preferences. This hotel is trying really hard to be a leader in customer service as Dustin would inferred.

It is true that this place used to be a love hotel but this did not affect our experience at this hotel in the slightest. Free wi-fi in every room, free bottled water, free (though, really simple: boiled eggs, toasts, OJ, milk, 2 types of cereal) breakfast (you can also venture to nearby restaurant if you like), and a decent gym. As far as location, it is very close to the Yeoksam station (exit #8) and you might discover that the subway is the most comfortable method of transportation in Korea and literally get you anywhere in Seoul. Overall, this hotel gives the most for your buck and

Stayed for 4 nights here in early April. As we took a night flight, we took the airport limousine that dropped at Yeoksam station instead of Hotel Renaissance. Was a feat looking for the hotel, however a helpful shopkeeper called the hotel and the staff came to receive us at the station.

For those who may need help in direction, get out from exit 8 of Yeoksam station, walk straight past angel-in-us cafe, keep walking till you reach a building construction with hoarding (before cross junction), take a left turn, you'll see a jap restaurant. Take the 2nd left turn into the small alley.

The room is a tad small but the amenities is great, jacuzzi bath, free mini bar, wifi, pc, etc. there's no lack of food as there's a few restaurants nearby.

The service from the staff is commendable, where they are most willing to receive u from the station & try even bring us to take a taxi, at the main road.

The location is abit off from the main tourist spot, however it's convenient if you're heading to the bus terminal. Nearest subway took about 8-10mins walk.

Overall, the service of the staff & the amenities is what stood out from the rest. Huge difference from some of the international hotels.

First of all I read a few of the reviews on here before we went to Korea and I thought this would be a good hotel experience. Now that I am here I am wondering if you are all paid to write these wonderful reviews....
Skip to the bottom for a summary.

Hotel is ok enough if you don’t mind the following:

Cleaning: Bathroom is not perfectly clean. Even if we requested cleaning everyday, we have huge amounts of dust bunnies having a party in here, after staying a week. They do a weird surface cleaning that looks like the reason why the bathroom has several brown spots everywhere.
Linen: Bed linen seem to be changed every other day which is fine, but almost every time they have changed it, it has some weird spot on it. I am not fussy, so it’s fine enough for a week, but to get a 4 star review of me you need at least spot free linen, which they have failed at completely. Towels also come with these weird spots from time to time
Internet: Spotty spotty spotty. Keeps jumping in and out. Fair speed when it’s here though.
Language: Several of you mentions getting help. The staff we have encountered does NOT speak English. My Korean mother was here the first days and if it hadn’t been for her we would not have understood anything.
Service: They refused giving us another key even if we offered to pay for it. My mother had to ask 3 times for an extra blanket.
Breakfast: Seriously??? That’s a snack, not a breakfast. Expect white toast, eggs if you are lucky, white buns and a banana.
Water and coffee: The reason this review doesn’t give them a zero is the free all you can drink coffee and water, thumbs up!
Amenities: This is another reason why this review is not a zero. They have complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, gel for your hair. Hair dryer and straightening iron, hair brushes (yes plural), coffee and tea in the room + a fridge!
Sound proofing: Doesn’t exist. Whenever there are partying going on in the so called party rooms, we are kept up all night by the sounds... and when the neighbor watched tv all night, guess what, we heard that too.
Location: Ok. We had no trouble finding it, and it’s a short distance from yeoksam station + there are a lot of good and reasonably priced restaurants around here.
Swimming pool: Only available for the people renting the party room.
Laundry and fitness: didn’t try the fitness room, but a load is in the laundry machine as we speak and it looks like it washed and dried it properly.

Summary:
I am so sorry, but for the price and due to an abundance of hotels in the area and Seoul this hotel does not get more than 2 from me. Ok enough for a night or two, and if we did stay that short I would maybe not have noticed all of this. I’m going somewhere else next time, maybe i’d return for a party in one of the party rooms. But otherwise not.

Good staff. Friendly and very cooperative. The location is great. Near the subway. Easy to reach. Food is poor.
The room is not large enough for a family with kids. I recommend the hotel for the location and Staff.

The hotel is located near the Yeoksam station in the neighbourhood of Gangnam. As others have commented it is a bit complicated to find, as it is not on one of the main streets. Once there, the first impression is not so good, as the only thing found when opening the door is a small hallway to a lift. Taking the lift will get you to the reception (it always stop on the reception, despite which button you had pressed in the first place). I guess I was lucky to have a very warm welcome from the general manager of the hotel, who went with me to show me my room and explain with detail about everything on it.

The room in itself was huge. As others have pointed, there was a bathtub, which was also huge, and very comfortable I must say. The room had a PC, connected to an HD 70'' TV in front of a very comfortable bed. You could push some movies on the PC (extensive catalogue) to the TV, free of charge. You could also use an audio system for the room, which according to the general manager was no problem because all rooms are soundproof (I cannot assure that, but I surely can say I heard nothing from other rooms, which was good).

The breakfast was probably the less attractive thing in the hotel: small tables with armchairs, not very comfortable for eating, and serving very simple food consisting of bread, yoghourts, boiled eggs, gimbap and some fruit.

While the Gangnam neighbourhood is probably not that interesting for tourism, the location is convenient. I would recommend, and will surely try to stay there again next time I am in Seoul.

I chose Nox Hotel for it's location (walking distance from Gangnam - but away from the hustle and bustle) and price. Yeoksam subway station is a mere 5 minute walk away. The hotel is located off the main road, but not far from it. The room is more than adequate, with an enormous TV, computer, free wi-fi and soft drinks, and huge jacuzzi tub. They let me check in hours early, and a friendly employee escorted me to my room and explained how to operate the air conditioner, TV, and lights (everything is controlled via remote and phone buttons - it's a bit confusing!). The staff speaks excellent English and are extremely helpful. If I'm ever Seoul I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I spent 4 nights in may.
The room was very spacious, with a free minibar (drinks) and multimedia computer connected to a very large television. Bathroom very big, with jacuzzi and sauna.
A small sofa and table were near the bed.
Very fast wifi.
Room too dark, just a small window isn't enough.
Some scuffs and signs of use (see the pics), not a problem anyway.
I don't like the bathroom amenities, they seemed previously used from other guests, as the slippers.
Other: you can directly pick the lift and go to the requested floor. It is not necessary to pass in front of reception. I don't like too much that. Anyway there is a CCTV for safety.
Finally i agree with other guys: this is a "Love Hotel". But not a "brohotel" or similar!!! I had no problem, the people was discreet, no strange noise. Nobody hurt me! But if you think about a boutique hotel, no way, don't book this!
The staff was professional and discreet, but not friendly as other hotel in Seoul.
The breakfast was poor!! The worst jam ever eaten!!
But for the same price i will choose another hotel.
