With just 10-15 minutes away from Hongdae Station, this simple yet friendly guesthouse would surely make your stay a memorable one. The rooms are well-maintained and the staff are friendly. There's free breakfast every morning but you could also cook if you want. Their common area is where you meet new friends (i.e. other guests and staff) and share stories...

Namu guesthouse was warm and cozy. We felt well taken care of and we learnt a lot about Korean culture by conversing with the staffs. Namu was clean and quiet. Being in a residential area, it was great for a good night rest. It's also within walking distance (15mins) from hongdae station, which makes it convenient to travel around Seoul...

Namu is very friendly and she helped us a lot with our trip. I like everything in the house especially the food and drink in the fridge. The house is very closed to the Exit 3 at Line 2 and Hongik University. So many shops are nearby.

The guesthouse location is closed to Bus Terminal (6 minutes). It is very easy to take bus to other attractive point. There are many restaurants in Korea style nearby. The bed room is clean and well maintain. It is highly recommended guesthouse.

Staying in Hongdae

Neighbourhood Profile
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.

“Room A is a 6 person mixed dorm with double deck beds. There's also a toilet in it. Room B is a room with a double deck bed (lower is double, upper is single) I believe this is the most spacious room of all. Room C is next to the toilet. Three single beds (one double deck, one single). It could be little bit cramped if you have a huge luggage, but if you have small ones, its perfectly fine.”
Yunnnn, 26 May 2014 | Read review
“Room A = Shared Room with 6 bunk-Beds. This room has a shared bathroom, which is available to guests in other rooms also. Room B = One of the bigger rooms available for private hire. From what I remember, it has a bunk bed and a sofa bed. The bunk bed is a double bed at the bottom, and single at the top. There is a little table in the corner of the room. Room C = I stayed in this room. :) It has a bunk bed (a single bed ontop of a single bed) and another single bed in the corner, so it fits 3 people maximum. This room is next to the shared Bathroom, so may be slightly noisier at peak times. Room D = One of the bigger rooms. This one fits 4 people easily, with a double bed, and a bunk bed (double bed at the bottom, and single at the top). Note that all rooms lead off the main living room area, so noise levels will roughly be the same, with the exception of room B which is next to the shared bathroom, and room A which contains a shared bathroom within it.”

“The dormitory was great. I'm a needy traveler, but there was no need to stay in single room here...it's safe, clean, and friendly.”

“Room C is just next to the shared bathroom. Easy access (which we liked) . If you are an early sleeper or late riser the noise may affect you though. It didn't bother us cause we slept late and rose early! :)”

“I chose the mix dorm. No problem. They would also give you a locker but I doubt if your luggages would fit into it. :p”
