I think the hotel is good in terms of facility. However i got really disappointed when the hotel couldn't give any refund. I paid full my booking for 6 nights.however due to unprecedented situation brought about by the spike in covid cases in yangon i had to shorten my trip to two days only. I asked the hotel some kindness to refund me at least the 3 days, but they never considered. I checked their policy on refund, but there was never any policy stating refund is not given, so i believed i was entitled to it. But i did not argue anymore as my top priority was to go back. It's just so disappointing that they never considered the guest's side.

Clean, good location, nice breakfast, friendly staff, big room.
There were only 2 defects. Firstly, the road outside are under construction, it is dirty and I walked across a small bridge to return. Secondly, address was wrong on Google map and always confused with other same name hotel.

Upon arriving at Yangon,
1) change money at the airport moneychanger, they offer the best rates compared to the shops in town as Myanmar is still developing and people are still messy abt rates
2) buy a SIM card with data plan beside the money changer (3.5 gB plan for usd12
3)hire a taxi to get to your hotel

Taxi to clover city plus is 8000kyats (6usd)

Located at the end of 32nd street, it's main door is just behind the backdrop of shangri la hotel

Pls. Note the clover city hotel is just beside this hotel
Same owner I believe, we stumbled into the wrong hotel during one of our nights, everything in the interior is the same

Ok back to city plus hotel, u are safe with this hotel from all the positive reviews u had seen
Breakfast is very very simple
Rooms are good and clean
Aircon is strong
Just note to note open windows at night, as the room I had was facing some back alley, there was a lot of flying bugs swamping outside during night time

It's walking distance to Malls, the market and a lot of street shops

Nice place to stay

Also cross the road Oppo Shangri la and you have access to cinema (watch deep water horizon for usd1.5/pax), night market like Bangkok & restaurants

TAXI BACK TO AIRPORT IS 10000KYATS

Stayed here during my visit to myanmar on december 2014.
the hotel located in the center on myanmar downtown, very good location.
- chinatown is just two street away,
- jade market and shopping mall is at the street opposite to the hotel.
- shewdagon pagoda is 3km from the hotel, it's take 15 minute from hotel and just cost u 3 usd.
good
- good location
- friendly staff
- the breakfast provide in hotel is quite good
- and quite stable wifi provided

bad
- the traffic to the hotel is very bad due to there is a construction site in front of the hotel,
sometime i just request the taxi drop me nearby and i walk back to the hotel.
- during the 1st day i stay the water heater was not functioned,

this might help u
- in the same street there is 2 clover city centre hotel,
clover city centre hotel and clover city centre plus hotel,
and clover city centre plus hotel is the newest, price also hgher.
- this hotel only accept VISA card, so if u are willing to pay by credit card, please take note,
- Myanmar Chinatown is not like other country, around 8 o'clock they already close, so if u want to visit to china town, 5-7 o'clock is the best time.
- jade market operation hour is until 5pm.
- the best time to visit to shewdagon pagoda is around 5 - 9pm. but the traffic to the pagoda is quite jam. u might need around 30 minute to 45 minute to reach there.
- to airport, better spare more time when u go to airport, i spend 2 hour plus to reach airport, although i checked in google map it's only 20 plus kilometer distance.
- the traffic in Myanmar really terrible.

beside of this, Myanmar is really a good place with friendly people and good food.
Sure i will visit this country again.

The trip to Yangon was a fairly decent one. And it is great to see Myanmar slowly opening up to the world for tourism. The hotel we stayed in, you could say, is very new.

It was a short trip there, so the place I've been to wasn't many. These are some of the places we been too.

Bogyoke Aung San market - Like the Ben Thanh market in Ho Chi Minh, it is name after the late general, and Aung San Suu Kyi father. A huge market place that sells traditional foodies (like dry fruits in packet form) as well as clothings and bags. A place where you can bargain and get souvenirs for ur friends and foe. From the hotel is about 10mins walking distance. You can't miss the market, a dome shape looking facet.

Shwedagon Pagoda - The oldest pagoda in Yangon. To walk is possible, but would suggest that you take a taxi (fare is about SGD2 to SGD4/-). It's worth a visit tho, and prepare to wear jeans or long pants. Also, ideal to wear slippers if you wanna go up to see the shrine. A tourist fee is required (I think about SGD5/-) for entrance fee. And trust me, go before sunset (late afternoon) the lights in there are rather spectacular.

Yangon Circular Train - 15mins walk from the hotel. Or, you could hail a taxi. But I would suggest you walk it off. Go into the train station, you would see a booth for tourist information. Ask for directions and climb a few stairways within the station and you would be guided to the ticketing booth 'within' the station. The cost is about SGD2/- ? The train just goes round (for an 1hour or so) and you'd see a different side of Yangon and the people. Nice ride, worth it.

Thought about visiting Aung San Su Kyi home but was told there is nothing there except to take picture outside the main gate area.

Overall, the wifi room cleanliness, free breakfast , decent location.

All of the above locations can be asked further from the friendly counter. They speak and understand English.

for eatery, the nearest café that serves majority of food (local/western) is 365 Restaurant. It is opposite the train station. And takes about 15mins walk (across a bridge). The hotel staff should be able to guide you on that.

This hotel is not renowned for the quality of its accommodation. It s very basic, but adequate for a night or two. Its redeeming feature is the outstanding friendliness of all the staff. They really do look after you, and at breakfast they ply you with food. Mostly to be recommended for back packers or those seeking a low budget hotel. But...yes....we would go for it again - for a night or two.

very centrally located, near sule paya. great neighborhood to stay - can walk to almost everywhere in downtown area. which is really nice! it's on a smaller side street so very quiet, but the hustle bustle of the main drag is one block over.

newer hotel. rooms were very clean, comfortable. AC worked well. good hot water. appears typical myanmar bathroom where the shower is in one room with the toilet, so be aware that your bathroom floor will be sopping wet after you shower. (slippers would be helpful here!). doormen helpful in arranging taxi service (though they appear to raise the price a few USD, and split the difference with the driver). if you are really counting $, flag one yourself and negotiate.

on our return trip, we stayed here again. couldn't book online bc internet was not working in inle lake area. so we just showed up, hoping they'd have a room avail. which they did. but they quoted us a price that was $30 higher. they wouldn't give us the same rate we had the first time because that price was a "internet price only". so, my sister just pulled out her ipad and booked it online. for the same price as before. folks at the desk could have saved us 20 minutes of wasted time.

on our second stay, the wifi was broken. they pinned it on "unreliable myanmar service", but it was clear that the router on our floor was out, since we were able to use internet fine when we walked down the hall to the other end of bldg, or in the reception area. but, no one was willing to concede that it was a router issue (the local networks are named by room #'s, so it was obvious that our room #'s router was offline).

so, few minor gripes, but otherwise a fine stay. for $75/night, maybe a little bit pricier, but room was quiet and comfortable.

I booked three nights at the Clover City Center Plus using the hotel's online booking website. The day of my flight to Yangon, I was notified that my visa to Myanmar had failed to go through. To my severe disappointment, I was forced to postpone my trip to Yangon. I called the hotel to try and cancel my reservation. The supervising manager politely but firmly declined to reimburse the costs of my booking. I even offered to pay a cancellation penalty, but she still refused to reimburse anything. (Apparently she couldn't refund because I had booked online) As a result, I paid several hundred US dollars to stay at the hotel for 0 nights.

While I understand the economic motivation to prohibit reimbursements for day-of cancellations, my particular reason for canceling was necessitated by circumstances completely out of my control. The supervising manager told me that if I had booked directly through the hotel that she could have refunded me without issue.

Moral of the Story: Future guests, do NOT book online. Call the hotel and book directly.

To the Clover Plus: Your cancellation and refund policies need to be more lax. You should give management the power to exercise reimbursement discretion on a case by case basis for online bookings that are made through your website (cloverhotelsgroup.com). That way, guests who are forced to cancel due to reasons out of their control don't have to suffer such harsh forfeitures.

I will not try to stay at this hotel again.

Central location, friendly staff, hot showers and good breakfast.

This hotel is a good place if you’re passing through Yangon for a night or two & need a base to explore from. It’s not luxurious but neither is the price. It gets the basics right!

hi; is there any extrabed available in this hotel?
Answer from tjw007
Alexandria, Virginia45 contributions26 helpful votes
It depends on the room - if there's enough space for it - and you'll have to pay a little extra. We originally booked for three people, but our companion canceled, yet we still had the extra bed in our room and it fit just fine. If you tell them in advance you'll need that, they'll put you in a suitable room.
