Stayed in Yangon for 2 days, hotel is located near a market and a convenience store. At night there are bbq stalls outside the hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Best thing about the hotel are the friendly staff. Very accomodating and helpful in providing directions.

We recently (September 5 and 10) stayed at the centrally located, remodeled and reasonably priced MK Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit which was way beyond our expectations. MK has a very attentive and very professional staff from the car/door greeter, reception desk personnel, dining room staff, housekeeping and room attendants. We'd like to give a special thank you to the Manager, Mr. Tin, in arranging for a special take-out breakfast for us when we had to be at the airport for a very early morning flight and his kindness and warm personality. We stayed in both a superior (executive) room and family suite. Both were very nice, indeed, in decorations, beds and bathrooms. We highly recommend the hotel for both short and longer stays in Yangon.

It was not an easy task to find a decent hotel in Nov in Yangon. We were lucky to have secured a triple room (the Exclusive Deluxe) for our first 2 nights. Our room was clean and spacious, and there was a function lift that took our luggage to 2/F with the help of 2 staff when we arrived at 1am. Some mentioned the rather interesting floor plan, we took it as a plus as we used the kitchette/bathroom/toilet as our living room. Breakfast was great with menu that changed daily, in addition to snack, fresh fruit, water and coffee. Highly recommend the fried noodle and tuna toast. The staff kept asking if we were full and if we wanted more. They offered us water when we hit the road and icy orange juice when we came back for a break in mid-day. Location is perfect as we do not want to stay at the city centre but it's within walking distance to Monsoon, a restaurant you should not miss, and The Strand. There were always taxi waiting outside that could take you to most part of the city for 2000K or less. The hotel also helped us bought all of our domestic flight tickets at a pretty good deal and when the flight changed (seems pretty common in Myanmar), Joseph, the staff who arranged our flight, managed to track us down at our hotel in Bagan to inform us about the change. We failed to get a room for our last night in Yangon before going home, but they helped us found another hotel and even offered us free shower (in one of the guest rooms), water and money-changing at 10pm (which is considered pretty late in Myanmar). Not to mention the function wifi which is proved to be a luxury when we arrived in Bagan. It's not cheap but I will not call it pricey given all travel costs in Myanmar grow by at least 50% in the past 6 months and it's still increasing. I will recommend MK to anyone and I look forward to my next visit.

Staff are friendly and helpful. But hotel has been around for a few years and seem like management is not interested to maintain and improve.

Towels are in such poor state that a hard pull will tear them up.

TV is so small and lack of anything good channels. Only locals channels and even then some channels can’t see clearly.

Internet is still slow and intermittently lost connection, giving the country or city infrastructure has improved and some are already using high speed internet.

Breakfast is a very small spread that you might as well take at the tea shop/house beside.

There was an near miss incident when the staff laid down a small carpet which has the slippery contact with the floor. See pic attached. As I waked to the room from the lift and stepped on it, I skidded and my fast reaction to grab the side wall saved me from falling flat on my butt. This was highlighted to the front desk and when I came back in the evening the carpet was removed.

On the bright side room is clean and tidy although it is small. Toilet and bathroom is spacious but the water pressure is not strong enough and the basin tap has broken with small jets of water streaming out instead of normal flow when turned on.

Compared with other places in Yangon this is a true bargain, not least because it is clean and new. Limitless hot water; very comfortable bed; fresh bedding every day; excellent breakfast (menu changed daily, but the Asian options far and away the best); and the most helpful and friendly staff imaginable. Taxis outside the hotel always available and well priced (no more than $3 to go anywhere in the city core). Maybe a 20 minute walk to (say) Traders Hotel or Sule Pagoda, but very convenient for the architectural highlights of colonial Rangoon, esp the Secretariat Building. And anyway, as traffic in the city is so heavy, and as there are teashops on every corner, and as there is so much to see on every street, walking is the best way to get around. The hotel was always a joy to return to. Recommended with great enthusiasm.

Had a pleasant stay here for 4 nights. Service is good - they have pretty good security at night.

Front desk is 24 hours. If I were to be picky on onething, it is the airconditioner. It was rather loud at night.

Location was good - it's about 20 minutes walk to Bogyoke market and a 5 minutes walk to Lucky 7, one of the best Myanmar restaurant in Yangon

Room : Looks new, spotlessly clean, spacious, working hot shower, quiet, wifi connection was strong. Elevator seemed new and stops on all floors.

Location : 15 minutes walk to central Sule Pagoda area, 20 min taxi to Shwedagon Pagoda, 45 min taxi to airport. Located on a typical Yangon street of food vendors and people chatting. Room was well insulated from the street noise. No taxi touts harassing you at the entrance (but generally Yangon is free of touts).

Breakfast : Local fare of noodle soup, fried rice plus bread and eggs. Simple and adequate.

Service : All staff speaks English. All enquiries entertained. Excellent.

Overall: A 3-star hotel by international standards. By Myanmar standards, it's a 4-star hotel for a 3-star price.

Stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe twin room. Room is spacious and well kept. Clean restroom. Buffet breakfast is simple and good enough. Try their coconut chicken noodle soup. They have very friendly and helpful staffs. They lend us umbrellas during the time it was raining. They were very cheerful in assisting us.

I stayed here for almost a month in June 2015, and was very happy with the level of care and attention given to their guests. It's not the Four Season's but is comfortable clean and casual. The staff were fantastic, and I will be a return visitor.

Note* They change the wifi password frequently. Not a big deal to get the new password, but I was knocked off the network while on conference calls more than once.
