We love the old-style large rooms (helped by booking a suite ). The location is pleasant - away from the busy city bustle. The balcony is a bonus, and we scored lovely sunset views . The room is clean and reasonably appointed . Some would say the beautiful parquet floor is squeaky and tired, having seen better days , but...

Classical hotel in town not so far from airport. More quiet relaxed and can go to Shopping also have department stores nearby the hotel. If you would like to go to downtown also not so far. The great time to rest in Yangon.

I will start with the good points. The rooms are big and spacious. General cleanliness is decent although the interior is a bit outdated. Service is good and the staff speak decent English. There is a jewellery shop which offered good value, price and variety, saving you time going to the ruby market. There was no incidence of power outages...

This hotel looks classy since there are so many stores such as watches, hair cut, manicures etc. It would be good to chill at the bar. Remember to sit outside the bar! You can view a nice sunset along the river.

We had four nights here in three different rooms on our recent tour of Burma. The hotel was very comfortable indeed. The staff were very helpful at all times. The bar staff were particularly attentive and efficient. The rooms were generally very good as was breakfast.

Stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our stay. Rooms are quite large. Bathrooms and rooms could use an update but given that we were in Myanmar I can't complain. Breakfast buffet was great and the dinners we had at the hotel were all good. Hotel has a lot of grounds on the lake. Swam in the pool one day....

We are a family of 5 so appreciated the rooms close together. Good breakfast spread including lattes, fresh fruit, buffet for all cuisines, omelette making station. Have swum in pool which was...

The staff are great, the view around the reception area and the lake is fabulous but the rooms are tired and smelly. Also the carpet along the corridors has seen better days. It a beautiful relaxing Hotel, if they looked into the rooms situation it would be the best place to stay in Yangon.

The Russians built this hotel 70 years ago and the opulence shows. Large rooms with grand ceilings and chandeliers. The rooms are large with huge balconies that overlook a lovely garden with lake. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is as big as other hotel rooms. Great breakfast and service. Enjoy.

Built about 70 years ago by the Russians at the height of the Jade industry - this was the central market for the big buyers. You can sense the opulence that must have existed in those days. Like an old lady, there are a few wrinkles, but the class remains. The high ceilings, the large rooms, the parquet floors, the huge...
