This hotel is very well situated in the middle of downtown not far from the train station, and far too by taxi to the main pagodas. The staff is also very kind with a welcome drink. The atmosphere is cool and friendly, and all is clean for a guesthouse. We could even take a shower after checkout and before taking...

Chan Myaye was a good choice for a fairly budget guesthouse in downtown. The location was great - a short walk to Chinatown, the waterfront, the train station and the markets. The staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting places to visit and buses to take. The room (a private double with bathroom) was big and had all the necessities, although...

Room on 8th floor, with shared bathroom. Asian and western toilets and showers. Staff helped with taking up bags from the 3rd Floor reception. Good breakfast. TV with only 2 channels Burmese and Korean, aircon leaked water, the room was very small.

I booked a single room hours before arriving at the hostel. When I got there, the staff upgraded me to a double room for the same price of a single room as they had run out of single rooms. The staff is friendly and the room was clean with good air con. The location is central and close to Sule...

This is one of the better rated hostels in Yangon but manage your expectations, it is very basic. I had cockroaches in my room and rattling A/C all night. Still, at least the sheets were clean and there was A/C available. More than can be said for other places in Yangon.

Chan Myae Guesthouse is in a fantastic location to Sule Pagoda and Bogyoke Aung San Market, as well as numerous eateries. You do have to climb numerous flights of stairs (8 flights to get to the top floor), so this is not a good choice if you have knee issues etc. The room itself was okay - the air conditioner...

So nice, I stayed there thrice! (in private room $20-$22 USD per night) Dorm beds (fan only), singles with A/C en suite or shared bathroom Great location downtown near Sule Pagoda. Yummy, filling breakfast included each morning, Sweet & helpful staff! So many stairs, though. You'll get your cardio.

The triple room is expensive. The room is small and noisy. We can not get a good sleep at the first day arrive myanmar. We tried to buy JJ bus tickets from the guest house to Bagan. But they didn't buy for us. We just took the bus guest house suggest us but it's worse. 18500kyat.

Let's get one thing straight: Myanmar just recently opened up to tourism. It is still developing the tourist economy, so it is unrealistic to compare the budget hostels in Yangon to those in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Now, that being said, Chan Myaye is a very solid budget option in the heart of Yangon. My husband and I stayed in...

Good and clean rooms. Sanitary rooms are also clean. The stuff is very friendly and helpfull. It is very near to the central train station, but really far to the bus terminal and the airport. Also it's good for going to local places and very near to the sule pagoda. Nice chill out area at the reception.
